Likewise. It’s been a blessing. ❤️ I haven’t been able to reach relatives today. No one has been answering our calls. Really worried at this point. A friend of mine said some of her family members in Afghanistan are hiding in underground basements.

I called my uncle this morning and he was trying to stay strong but you can hear the panic in his voice. He only cares about his young teenage son and doesn't care if he dies. That literally broke me.

To the I-F folks, please know that your comments and prayers are enough. Please don't let this thread close. It is bringing me comfort to know that there are people who care.

Stay strong please. We all are with you. This will hopefully pass.

Can't the people of Afghanistan organise a mass uprising against the Taliban?

Dude, can you simply not comment on this for once? Please don't hurt the ones who are already in anguish over the state of their families and friends in Afghanistan.

Yes, Afghanistan is free. Free to rape, loot, murder and traffic women. Free to oppress and stone people to death. Free to spread religious extremism. Free to kill and maim.

Please, please give it a rest.

No this was not opened by FingerFetish. But nevertheless, it's good if we talk about extremism and its atrocities in general. For all we know, each of these units of the multi-headed monster could be teaming up to draw the world further into an endless quagmire of bloodshed, grief and misery.

I seriously hope the UN springs into action soon. I detest the USA and its NATO allies, but they are the only hope we have left now. 😒

And this is why chances are they won't send troops. Who wants to send their sons to die and then be maligned for the same? Public opinion is massively against returning to the region.

Yes the same pathology.

That's whyI believe it can't be vanquished until and unless the funding is stopped. Even then they would keep on surviving by robbing the civilians. I mean that's how local chapters of Taliban fund themselves here by carjacking, kidnapping for ransom, human trafficking. So they will keep on surviving but atleast on a smaller and local level. They won't turn into a global threat..

According to mythology, Goddess Kali stretched out her tongue and caught each drop of the blood that was spilled, thus not letting a single drop of it fall to the earth.

Here we have the monster, but not the one who is ready to finish it to the last drop of blood.

Dude, are you seriously supporting rapists and sex traffickers and drug traffickers?

It's a tricky situation. The USA has always acted on its own interests as far as history shows; it was also instrumental in creating the Taliban. So can't exactly laud it for being some liberating saint. At the same time, they are the only hope to clear up the mess that they had a role in the first place.
