Mandaar is a sociopath?

His character makes little sense to me

If he and Pallavi had an arranged marriage and barely got to know each before marriage,and had essentially no to little spent after marriage...why is he so obsessed with Pallavi??

Why this need to 'possess' her like she was his for many lifetimes?

How can he try to kill his own mother over someone he barely knows??

I think his mom knows he's a sociopath from when he was a kid.

I don't know whether the was obsessed with Pallavi or obsessed with the fact that he doesn't want Pallavi to move on just because they all think that he died. Also, I think he is like a spoilt child whose toy is taken and doesn't want to lose it.

You know like a kid; they will become possessive of the tv when we also want to watch the tv. Or they will eat very fast when usually they eat really slow when we say that we want to eat their food if they don't want to finish it. I think it's this kind of obsession for Mandhar.

Also, he doesn't like Raghav and he doesn't want Pallavi to marry to anybody else and Mandhar is the least of that list.

I bet Mandhar is thinking that of all the people you married why does it have to be Raghav Rao that I don’t like. Anyways, just forget that for a moment! You’re not supposed to forget me just because you think I’m dead and you’re supposed to mourn me till you also die. You are mine and only mine!

He is just a bloody psycho and nothing else. He is obsessed with Pallavi. We donot know under what circumstances did he marry her and willnot know if he is genuinely in love/lust with her or he is having any other ulterior motives for this marriage. He is offended with Raghav Rao because Raghav challenges him and he wants to break his love and pride. He is just some strange kind of psychopath.

I concluded that in my not-so-expert-opinion, he's a sociopath with psychopathic tendencies.

It's common in accident cases. They don't understand emotions, especially sympathy or empathy. Develop toxic relationships with loved ones as no one can decode what's happening.

They can't apply appropriate filters while talking, ultimately become misfits as the ability to detect social cues is hampered.

One track mind, hallucinations, OCD, loss of brain tissue due to atrophy, the list is endless.

Personality disorder is a common trait.

Sorry to disagree but what you mentioned is rare cases!! Though personality changes to a certain extent but the core personality remains same!! Nothing changes that!! He is a text book psychopath who from childhood maintained a calm and composed demeanor to hid his psychopathic tendencies. No son would try to murder his own mother even he has amnesia or is sociopathic. He do not have hallucinations, He is a psychopathic creep who has eyes on Pallavi as his prey. He wants to break her and then have her. He wants to physically and mentally break the girl so that he became his plaything for rest of the life. He is devoid of any emotion and he do not feel anything. This man is extremely cunning and vicious and can do anything to anyone to achieve his goals. He is a complete psychopath and he is born that way. No amount of reform or redemption will enough for him. He needs to be put down like a mad dog.

Well, they have been in a long distance relationships before they married and he left during their wedding night. It's a little bit weird to me that he left under such circumstances but I think he was trying to leave Pallavi on their wedding day. He was walking in the middle of the road with big storm and cat and dog rain that driving was not safe itself. Now he only cares about Pallavi because he thinks she is his possession who has to stay loyal even though he's not by her side and left her.

Unless we are a neuroscientist, neurosurgeon, or neurologist then I don't think we will be able to answer that. However, I believe some trauma to the brain can change one's behaviours. Even the experts themselves do not know much about the brain. However, I believe that Mandhar is different from his brother and cousins growing up. Sharda and Millind had mentioned it several times before.

Well trauma can change some parts of personality not the core. Mandar's core personality or nature is psychopathic there is no trauma induced change here.
