He isn’t that typical angry young man we are used to in ITV shows till date
He is complex and has layers

Someone who can be termed as Grey character in true sense

As a human in reality is

I can sense after this show many production houses will offer him same types of roles and he will refuse it. Honestly, if I were him I would stop doing ITV shows at all . The amount of fan bashing and pressure he has to take is insane. Any normal person will go mad. Both he and Shivangi might leave ITV for better after this.

It is okay. No problem. It is a kind of story which takes time to connect and it gets better with increasing episodes. Some scenes are still legendary of that show. The trope of mature and realistic romance started with that show!! Anyways how is your life?

Do you watch Marathi films , Tai?

In fact all the 4 states culture and people are very different from one another

Karnataka, Andhra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala

Bollywood and TV shows people don't know this. For them South India means Madras and Tamil, Rajinikanth and lungi dance😆

This show too makes some mistakes like RRs lungi or calling father Appa instead of nanna , etc. They got entire marriage ritual and Mangalsutra wrong.

Sai tries to be authentic but he too slips some time.

I am absolutely aghast when I find out that people want to know about their tiffin ka dabba. Matlab kuch bhi. Ab yeh bhi puch lo ki toilet timings kya hai 😆 Hadd hoti hai.

The next most annoying question is - Are you single? Agar single hai bhi, toh bhi kya karlenge? 😆

Typecasting is real, but the present generation has somewhat changed. A good example is how actors play historical characters and they can still move on to playing present day characters. Back in the day, if an actor played Lord Ram, bas uska career ka the end hojata tha. We've seen it with the old Ramayan actors. They had to stay in character even offscreen. The good thing with social media is that we see the actor behind these characters, and we see him/her being just an ordinary human being. Then it also depends on script selection. Some actors aren't that great, but their agents get them AMAZING scripts which sky rockets their careers. Sab naseeb and opportunity ki baat hoti hai, and perseverance.

I also find all his answers funny. Sometimes I think he doesn't even read the full paragraph 😆

Not only pressure from fans, but from the channel as well. The unfortunate part is that the actors get tagged and bashed on social media because of their presence (which they have to maintain as part of their portfolio in today's day and age), not the producers or writers. The script isn't in Sai or any other actor's control. Hell, the script doesn't even seem to be in the producer's control!

I'm not too familiar with south TV shows and movies (don't even remotely understand any of the languages), but from whatever little I know, I think their media isn't as insane as ITV media (south bhi India mein hi hai so it should fall under the ITV umbrella, but you get what I mean). These actors are hounded for their time - kabhi what's in their bag, what's in their tiffin ka dabba, what's on their phone, who's on their phone, whereas all they want to do is show up to work, do their work, and then go home. They treat their work as their day job and not as a brand endorsement.

@ bold: Absolutely! I do think he might get typecast in the beginning and may get similar roles. Very few writers can grasp the difference between a typical angry, young man male lead (ie. Maan Singh Khurana, Arnav Singh Raizada, etc.) and RR. This character is fairly niche and I think a lot of producers will try to mimic it going forward.

Also, I don't think he was necessarily scolding. Bas normal jawab hi tha, I just found it funny because I took it as a sarcastic jab and that aligns with my sense of humour. 😆

Completely agree. The whole format of ITV is just toxic. I am watching an ITV show after ages and I've taken that risk only because of Sai and his character, RR.

I wish we get a more sane platform......

Same here, after more than a decade, I’m watching ITV show. It was My escape from pandemic, actually tried a different show and few episodes and gave up. I clearly remember the first episode I watched while flickering the shows was RR goes to old house Replica and opens up (not totally)his pain to Farhad , I was on board. Sadly Story has way drifted ,but Sai has continued to amaze me. Honestly now I take this crap of story just to see myriad expressions of Sai.

Is there any confirmation that the show will end in September?

I also started watching coz the pandemic was finally taking a toll on me after working from home for over a year and not having any other human interaction. I tumbled upon RR through a youtube video and was immediately hooked. I missed like 30 episodes but caught up very quickly. Even then I was like "It's an ITV show, its bound to go south after a few months, so should I or should I not invest my time..." but then Sai's acting has compelled me to remain glued, no matter what they show. I did enjoy the Mandar track but fans spoilt it for me by unnecessary bashing and requesting producers to change the script. You can clearly see that they're under pressure and that doesn't reflect well on screen because the pressure makes them make mistakes. But as far as their acting goes, its still as good as it was and in fact, Sai is becoming better day by day, his emotional scenes are a treat to watch. The other day I was thinking that on ITV when a bahu cries, women cry with her. In our case, when RR cries, we cry with him....(I don't cry but I feel sad..)

Shivangi is also nailing her performance even if her character seems a bit flip flop but she carries it with alot of grace. I've loved one thing about her - Her grace and the way she carries herself with so much dignity. Love it!!
