I agree. Most shows have this sequence as if to check it off a list. Not necessary here at all. That shouldn't be the focus of the story, and no needed to hype this.
I wouldn't be surprised if the intimacy is implied and it would be a refreshing change to see them not focus on it or make a big deal. It's none of our business after all. 😆
