I'm not insanely worried about the TRP game right now because the show did receive an extension and I'm assuming that means that it has another 5 months (or 4, whatever's left now) to prove its merit.
I am worried about Sandip's execution though. Baithe bithayi he went off track and threw all logic and sensibility out the window, which makes me fear that if it wasn't for such a raging fandom, iss ne toh khud hi apne show ke maut likh deni thi.
I agree that loving and respecting your elders is essential, but only until a certain point. If that same elderly person is disrespecting your boundaries, your marriage, and literally caging you within four walls to separate you from your legally-wedded spouse, then that is problematic and frankly unacceptable. Pallavi tolerating D-fam's nauu-tanki after their repetitive poor behaviour with her and her husband does not fit in the realm of this show. If this was a Balika Vadhu concept of some sort, then perhaps it would be justified, but how can the audience see an independent, hard working, young woman willingly putting up with so much nonsense and further enabling it?! Pallavi should be creating and maintaining boundaries, that's the message shows these days should be portraying instead of elaborating on a nonexistent dilemma of "kartavya vs. farz vs. pyaar".
You're absolutely right that the oscillation between both families needs to stop, especially when one family is outright toxic and has practically disowned her. Pallavi shouldn't be giving that much importance to the people and place that cause her so much emotional and mental harm. It's not worth it. Not because it separates her from Raghav, but because it's detrimental to her mental health and her self-esteem.
While I understand that all newlywedded wives experience this turmoil trying to balance both families, it's just not warranted in Pallavi's case to keep biting off more than she can chew. Think about it... her in-laws hardly have any expectations from her, her ex-in laws don't care for her, she should easily be off in her blissful bubble with her handsome husband. Kyun parhi hai isse dunya daari ki itni?!
I've caught up with most of the spoilers on the forum today, so I'm excited to watch the episode tonight and feel less anxious about what's in store for us. I just hope Star Plus doesn't intervene and Siku isn't thrown off track again (whether it's due to external pressure from the channel or his own creative juices working in overdrive).
@bold: I think this week's nonsensical episodes were actually a result of Star Plus's intervention. It needs TRPs to keep a show alive. Uska logic ke saath koi lena dena hai hi nahi. If there was, you know yrrkh would have been shut long ago!!
Seeing the TRPs for the other shows, we have a fare idea of what type of shows are welcomed these days, I am sure MHRW will stand like a rock among these too!!!
