Thank you for your wishes. I really hope if I can inspire at least few students to do higher maths and instill the love for the subject then I would be happy. I am so big on girl empowerment - maybe because I have 2 girls myself. Maths can be the key to making girls more self reliant and confident.

Some day I wish to come back to India but that seems to be a wish as we are kind of settled here. But hope to god - I can do it someday. At least I want to empower girls here.

That is because in India we are taught to byheart the procedure to solve the problem. No one explains why the problem can be solved that way. Unfortunately good maths skills are so needed to do any of the high paying jobs - be it engineering, computers or Artificial intelligence or Data analysis. I used to teach my girls maths when they came into middle school and my girls were like - Why the heck are you working as a computer engineer when you should be a teacher. You teach so much better than my teachers at school and explain the concepts. Then I realized that I can do a difference here and my better half, my husband was like - you do have 1 life. Do what you want to do. So yes just before the pandemic, I chucked my job and enrolled in credential program. I will be working as a full time year from 2022 school year.

I had amazing maths teachers once in school, and once in undergrad, and jo pyaar hua mujhe subject se because of them!! It carried with me through all the terrible teachers. You'll make such a difference to the lives of your students!
