So I’m an india forums lurker and am occasionally active on the PS forum as well as barrister babu sometimes. I read GHKPM forum to get updates on the show since I CANNOT watch the show mainly because it genuinely frustrates me. However, I found this topic really interesting and thought I could provide some insight. They have made it clear time and again that Virat is from a 96k Maratha family. These families, if wealthy, tend to have a lot of land and businesses on their name, the kind of family the Chavan’s are depicted to be makes me believe that they own ancestral land and businesses. These joint families in general tend to have each sibling take up a different aspect of the business and the earnings are more or less of the person handling it. Any other jobs that these people have are just a surplus to them. Hence they all get to have a more or less extravagant lifestyle however, there are clear visible gaps between the statuses internally. Like one DIL has more jewellery than the other and so on. Kaku has her husband's pension as well as her share in the land and business so does Ninad. Omi must be earning properly through whatever aspect of business he looks out for, enough to take responsibility of his son and DIL as well. Samraths mom must have some money from her husband's side and maybe a share in her father’s property. Shivani seems to be independent. Samrat and Virat don’t have to worry about home, food, etc since that’s all taken care by their families their salaries are simple surplus pocket money. However, the monopoly is all in the elders’ hands in such families and you kinda have to get every expense approved by them if you aren’t earning that’s why karishma and mohit are in a sad situation since they have to ask elders for the money where as Saiee Virat Shivani Mansi Samrat and even patralekha for that matter earn and have completely self owned money at their dispense.

I don't remember exactly but I guess in one of the episode when Sai was cooking food for DevKit, Kaku was complaining about the wastage of money. Sai and Virat said it's his money. I might be wrong but I guess Kaku or someone else from the Trimurti gang asked since when does Virat pay for the food. So what you are saying is interesting.

For the red part, this is just something marathi kakus say irrespective of how much money they have 😂😂 it’s just something mean to say, she really doesn’t care about the money just didn’t wanna spend it on Devkit.

Not the things she does. But like her mean personality and all mean comments are more or less real. But the whole making your daughter go crazy part. I hope such people don’t exist anywhere 🙈
