I wonder if Shams is the one who will be Laapata?

I didn’t really enjoy the first 2 episodes as the rest of the people here but I think the show has grown on me. I don’t like gaiti. I hope she would just go away. But apart from her rest of it is fine. Shams n fatal r cute together. I hope everything goes well for them

I know it's a long rant below but please read ...

First of all A HUGE SHOUT OUT to team Lapata for bringing us something so beautiful on our tv screen

It's so refreshing to see 3 families co existing together with no unnecessary malice

I love and can relate to each and every character

In shows there will always be an evil phupo or back citing Chachi and bechara male guardians

But here I really enjoy the husband wife convos of the elders which has more reality and less kitchen politics

I APPLAUD how women empowerment is shown in such a casual yet EFFECTIVE WAY.....be it Falak playing badminton professionally and both she and her sister being good in studies being showcased and applauded.....given in Asian shows girls educational achievements are hardly highlighted

.....in epi 4 I really liked how Falak was congratulated by whole family and relatives for topping in exams and how she is ambitious and strong minded to persure further studies and share home expenses with her hubby in future .....I CLAPPED when she asked her sister TO GET A JOB rather than complaining over her hubby's salary which is sufficient yet not good enough for her.....the dialogue HALF OF THE POPULATION IS WOMEN and if they all sit at home then Toh tarakki hone se Raha was SO ON POINT.....I really want such more dialogues in dramas where women working out should be both encouraged and normalised....

.I liked how Falak just smirked at the boys teasing her and how Gaiti took care of the butcher guy who stares at her on her own.....BRAVO....enough of seeing gals crying over Eve teasing ..

also I like how Samina phupo sends Gaiti to bring her things from outside which usually boys do...thanks for showing gals can do it as well...given the mixed reactions over making online videos...thanks for showing it in a fun way with Gaiti ...coz that's actually what it is...fun...I love the character of Samina phupo....neither is she planning plotting against her bhabis nor trying to conspire against Falak shams relationship for Gaiti.......the 3 sets of guardians are being shown to be equally fond of the kids and their well wishers which is just so REFRESHING AND NEW.....the conflicts between are also not stretched unnecessarily nor artificially forced for the sake of drama.....

Finally watched all four episodes. This drama is not that great but still nice. Again it's story of three cousins. They all are flawed human beings. Geeti is more of greyish. Shamas is good person but he had taken short cut ways to earn money and he got trapped.

Falak is sensible and educated girl among these three. Will see how story will unfold in future

I thought only Geeti and falak are actually cousins. Shams dad was a family friend not the brother. I’m loving the show regardless, the editing and Ayeza’s performance makes it worthwhile.

Choosing a gambler and earning lecture to feed a gambler is women's empowerment.

If you are educated and can't recognize a gambler then uchhki jaroorat kya thi 😆

At least Geeti is in an independent profession, getting remittance without studying. kuch toh kar rahi hai 😆

On the contrary I found it pretty lame that Gaiti is not even 10th grade pass....making videos online doesn't mean u quit studies and waste ur whole time on videos only.....coz the video bloggers stardom time span is the shortest

I would really like it if the writer shows us Gaiti persuing basic olevel alevels and university education

Coming to Falaks "lecture" ....U HAVE GOT IT ALL WRONG.....the message was NOT about feeding a gambler.....the message was sharing expenses with ur hubby if u want a luxurious life .....she was talking about the sisters perspective who is educated herself and not even happy with her husband's 1 lac salary.....so if she also works she can fund their outings movie nights and extra fees for her kid which she was complaining about not having

Given the cost of living in cities in indo Pak continent has literally doubled.....it has become absolutely necessary for a girl to work as well...otherwise whats the use of all these degrees and financial investments by parents if the daughter doesn't earn a penny.....such a wastage of money and a liability indeed as daughters are often called

And no one knows shams is a gambler....on the contrary Falak and the family members always keep telling him to complete studies and do something.....Falak or any financially independent girl who bears family expenses with the hubby DOES NOT mean that they will feed a useless good for nothing house husband by working.....NO THATS NOT WOMEN EMPOWERMENT and THATS NOT THE MESSAGE THE SCENE wanted to convey......

Falak meant she and shams will both earn and share the expenses and love a good life rather than always finding faults in the hubby for being not good enough and earning not good enough which is such a common jaheelana trait in Asian culture unfortunately...so Falak just said to her sister BIBI AP KHUD KAMAYE PHIR BAAT KAREIN......and this "lecture" is going viral on insta and on YouTube everyone is applauding only this particular scene only given a lot other things happened in epi 4 as well...but only these 2 mins dialogues by Falak grasped everyone's attention as it's so relatable now in today's world

@red, If a blogger can make good content then it never dies and a blogger is creative so they keep getting new ideas, new platforms. They need to learn SEO to rank, SEO is a huge platform, eventually, they live more than anyone else. I was just talking about the independent profession.

Coming to 10th grade as a video creator, that's lame. You have to be higher educated to survive in this profession. In the end, this is just a drama or the writer doesn't have idea of this profession that's why they made Geeti a 10th-grade failure. Video making, editing, sound adjust etc...so many work ..they have to have great knowledge of video editing.

Overall I talked about video bloggers, not tiktok. Tiktok is a total waste and it's not even a creative thing. 10th grader making videos, uploading, getting popularity is absurd.

Anyway whoever marries a gambler, needs to earn and share responsibility so Falak needs that 2 minutes mindset. I hope she pays 20 lakh to the police officer as well by doing a job, after all, that will be the responsibility too. Good going.

Sharing responsibility with an unemployed or less-earning husband is a different thing.

Writer needs to be realistic for Geeti as well.

Gaiti is not shown to be a 10th grader

She is shown not to persue education till metric and doing videos instead and wasting time

Ayeza is not shown to be a 16 yr old here

May be around 20 ...21

Falak is a uni goer....so she is also shown to be 20 21

Same goes with shams

Shams is shown to be older than Falak and he didn't complete his university graduation and wasting time ever since

And the writer very cleverly showed through his dad's monologue that he got it from his dad

Which I found a good twist as well coz many a times children do get a trait from the parents which remains irrespective of how well he or she is brought up......

I m excited to see how family and marriage plans will be affected once they know shams truth and for how long he will be lapata
