One of my favorite part of Imlie has always had this role reversal of sorts. What is usually relegated to women in a show has been shown to be done by men as well, which was proved again today. While today 50% of screen space was taken by the C family, I am mainly going to be focusing on the T family goings on, as that was much more palatable.
We started the episode with a continuation of Aparna's rant and her calling SK names, which hurts Imlie Imlie tries to explain to Aparna that her dadda is a krantikari, to which SK explains that he is used to shehri log misunderstanding him. BK tries to get all stern and ask if he is threatening them to which SK expalins that he can never do so, as the T's are related to him & his daughter. Today SK gave a glimpse of how an elder should act. He refused to get provoked and calmly explained that this entire situation was no one's choice. How he never wanted his daughter to get married as he knew she was destined for glory. How he too was against this marriage at one point of time (He had legit buried Adi, so if he can flip, so will the T's) but had changed his mind seeing how Adi's love has made his daughter stronger and sharper (taller bhi bana deta toh Adi toh Holicks ban jaata for Imlie - bad joke I knowđ) and he finally understood that this relationship was brought together by Sita Maiyya and has her aashirwaad - so all the regular people below just have to accept it now. He reminds Imlie to take care of her family and takes leave like a gentleman - reminding people how to act in any situation. Today SK again proved why he is hailed by so many of us in the fandom due to his words and action. Love you SK, you rock. As usual, SK ki baaton ka T family pe toh koi asar nahi hua, with Aparna just calling his words a nautanki, basically classifying it in the same category as Imlie's words. God when will they learn
The next man that stole my heart today was PT. All those who were worried that he will flip had nothing to worry about. When Aparna utaroes Adi's nazar, Adi reminds her that Imlie also had fought through the same dangers and uski bhi nazar utarna zaroori hai. Aparna as usual tants that she does not care where Imlie goes, as she knows that as long as Imlie is with Adi, Adi will always be in danger. Anyway, as Aparna was leaving, PT stops her and takes the arti ki thaal from her to utaro Imlie's nazar himself. Like we have seen multiple times, today PT showed why Adi own his feminine side, while still being macho. PT showed that no work is relegated to one gender, when he decided to show his acceptance of Imlie in such a beautiful way. Him taking her arti overwhelmed Imlie so much, as she finally had got back her father-in-law- the person who had genuinely loved her like a father all this while. PT also mentioned how this incident reminded him of why he had always loved her like his own - as she never backs down in any situation when it comes to her family. One thing I would love to point out was the BGM during this entire scene. It reminded me of the older scenes when we used to get the happy T's, with the Jr T's smiling away to glory looking at the changed PT. Aparna tried to remind PT that everyone was still mad at Imlie, to which PT clearly opposes her by telling her that Imlie has proved multiple times that she can do anything for Adi & Imlie. He brings Adi's & Imlie's hands together and joins them to the "Swastina Kindro" BGM which sounded so amazing in this context. Today it was a role reversal again, with the father doing what usually mother's do & the mother opposing instead. He confirms that he has now understood that this jodi has been made above and asks Aparna also to accept them, as he is sure that she cannot be that kathor dil - aah PTji, aapne abhi tak apni patni ka roudra roop dekha kahaan hai. Aise hi Imlie nahi kehti ki maa beta same same. Aapke beta jab itna waqt laga tha, toh ye toh uski maa hai, itni aasaani se maanne wali hai nahi. While I wished PT had atleast apologized to SK or to Imlie for all the words and insults they showered on her, but looks like this is the most we are going to get at each flip. Anyway all the elders walk away without saying anything, saying that
We then get Adi & Imlie's scene at the "new" kona directly, which still confused me as to whether Imlie shifted, or she was just in that room at that point for the conversation to look all lit up. Also as per tradition, the scene was intercut with the C family, as I hate and had feared. Anyway I am going to ignore their bakwaas and focus on the conversation we got. Imlie is playing with the rain drops and remembers how much she used to love the rain. I am glad to get happy baarish again, as even when Adi comes and sees her, he reminds her that in becoming all this bahu and all, she should not leave her jhallipan. Where everyone during the kidnapping sequence was blaming her for her jhallipan, this confirmation from Adi was all Imlie needed to remind her that he loves because she is a Jhalli and not despite it. Imlie was happy that finally at least PT has accepted their relationship and how she is hopeful that she will get pyaar ki barsaat again. Adi is surprised by how Aparna has still not accepted Imlie despite what she did, not knowing that like Adi, Aparna needs to see things to believe it. Anyway, Imlie reminds Adi that just because dreames take time to fulfill does not mean they should stop dreaming all together. Then we get a beautiful dream sequence, where Imlie dreams of being accepted by the T's as their bahu. With Aparna & BK getting their individual scenarios and the remaining characters getting ensemble scenes, the whole dream was so poignant and reminded me that all Imlie wants is acceptance and her family to love her the way they did before. Choti choti cheezen make her happy, and that was evident even in her dream. She requests her Sita Maiyya to fulfill these dreams quickly, which I assume set Sita Maiyaa's plan in motion as well. Adi tells her that despite all the problems they have faced, he is glad that now their relationship is out in the open and that he can start his new life together with her, which prompts Sita Maiyya to remind Adi & Imlie that things are going to get tough, with the sound of thunder and the intimation of a storm brewing.
Moving to the C family - today finally Malini confessed that she is human and does not like to see Adi & Imlie together. How she still loves him and was never confused about her feelings. How KC is just a coincidence that fit her plan and that he will only ever be a friend and nothing more. Bechara KC ka dil toot gaya on hearing this and the bouquet fell from his arms forgotten, even later. AC decides to poison Malini to fulfill her dreams, which is like the most extreme anyone can get. Uska diabolical dimag ka plan was visible in the precap, where Adityaji landed up at the T house with Malini in tow, asking Imlie if she was okay with Malini staying, to which Aparna reminds him that Malini is still the ghar ki bahu.
Looks like we are going to have a didilicious filled week ahead and need to prepare ourselves for didi jaap all around. God bless us to tolerate her this week.
