A fan fiction...

I keep my fan fic chapters above 3000 words always and try to reach at least 4500 words.

OS I keep above 5000 words.

I find it much more satisfying to read a long chapter so I try to do that with my stories.

But depends upon the point u want to stop at. I try to end mine at cliffhangers so to fit everything I pen the events of that chapter accordingly.
