He said that chacha and chachi took his responsibility and looked after him, but I don't recall him saying they died. We all assumed his parents were dead because he didn't mention his parents and only talked about pallavi and vikram and how they looked after him.

Woh bhi TRP ka bahana dekar, when the TRP has been static at 0.4 since its launch really. What changed between deciding to extend it on July 21 and then canning it on July 29?
Someone at the top at Sony perhaps didn't honestly want to extend it; the news of an extension was to possibly to pacify the fans (who had launched a pretty strong campaign to save it, and were even bombarding their phone lines)
Cast and crew even were given a 4-5 day holiday saying that the story was "being reworked" (the original last day of shooting was July 31).
And then Sony dropped the bomb yesterday saying it woudn't be extended.
Any fans who might have had josh to save the show the first time around would now just be tired, weary and frustrated, with all the energy sucked out of them. Plus there are barely five days left for shooting- too small a time frame to rework if any change is even managed.
In mini frustration, I even wrote this on the main IPZN forum last night!

I would have even understood them cancelling this owing to low TRPs afterall it's business. However giving extension and then rescinding it reeks of deception and unprofessionalism.
I thought only US network or streaming giants like Netflix had this habit of saving and then cancelling, they did it with many shows, this would be the first time I am hearing it for an Indian show that too not on usual culprits like sitara but sony
