I see so many people bashing Pallavi for not taking the hint that Mandar does have good intentions and that she’s not being clear enough in voicing out her feelings but here’s the thing, Pallavi is very clearly uncomfortable with Mandar’s presence, as can be seen in her hesitancy to go D house to make sheera or even sitting next to him in the car when they were delivering him to the Deshmukhs. So she does sense something fishy and it probably won’t take her long to see that daal me kuch kaala hai. She only went there after Amma gave her a green signal and even then she tried to call Raghav many times before leaving to let him know about it.
As per saying no, she didn’t explicitly say no to the things that were asked of her because they were supposedly harmless things, making sheera for someone’s pooja is not a big deal. But she did make it very clear that she is there just for helping him regain his memory and sat next to Raghav in the pooja, so she does know where to draw the line. She has said it many times EXPLICITLY that she considers Raghav as her husband now and has no ties with Mandar. She does not need to declare it to the world that she loves Raghav for them to leave her alone. I think the code language scene was enough to indicate that she’s not the kind of person who goes around showing off her love life so most likely she won’t say it to the Deshmukhs either.
Also, we can see Mandar’s ill intentions because we are the audience and it has been shown to us that he has bad intentions. Even before the character’s entry, it had been announced that he will be a grey character. Raghav knows about Mandar’s bad intentions because of the 7 day challenge but Pallavi has no knowledge of any of this. For her, he is just someone who has lost their memory and is trying very hard to regain it. If you look at it, Mandar has been acting very innocent and bechara in front of Pallavi, so that’s why she’s been so tolerant of Mandar because for her, he is a bechara trying to navigate his life through all this mess. Moreover, she was married to him at one point, albeit for a few hours, so it’s hard for her to see the red flags so soon because for her, she was married to a good guy who disappeared on their wedding night.
It happens in real life too, sometimes you choose to ignore the minor red flags because of previous association with someone (not necessarily an ex but a family friend or a distant relative can also be that) so Pallavi’s current behaviour has nothing to do with being too naïve or ignorant. She’s just trying to balance her life with Raghav and the D fam.
And as many people have already pointed it out, the judgment for the bangles scene should probably be saved until it’s been aired and we know what actually happened because Mandar could very well be twisting the truth in his favour in front of Raghav, like he did when he said that she came to make sheera just for him. The real truth was that she came to make sheera for the pooja not Mandar.
On a lighter note, once Pallavi finds out about Mandar’s intentions she’ll show him his place using her favourite weapons jhaadu and wiper 🤪 and that time he’ll wish he never even knew Pallavi!
