Some actresses don't improve even after working for a long time... for example, Aishwarya

Katrina is brilliant onscreen presence and charisma. The camera loves her and she can take a role and elevate it like Namaste London or Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (she was top notch here). Now compare her screen presence to the likes of today's younger actresses and you can see there's a severe lack. That aura she brings, that x-factor not everyone has. She's also someone that when she does good work, doesn't get her due. I'm not expecting a Tabu/Vidya Balan level performance from her b/c that's not her forte but she's not lousy or bad as you claim.

Her expressions are decent sometimes but she's never going to be outright good because she refuses to learn the language so she misses all the nuances and barely knows what she's saying. And who can blame her? Indians worship whiteness and her being foreign is a great attribute to her which she never wants to lose. She will keep separating herself from the pack by being too high and mighty to really learn Hindi. Just the way many Indians also separate themselves by faking their accents and making themselves sound more Western even though they live in India.

Kat destroyed Jab tak hai jaan for me.. she was terrible, I was constantly missing Rani or Kajol or Preity.. she was ok otherwise but the romantic scenes became so unconvincing because of her. Idk if Preity gets more credit but she was so good in veer zaara… these kind of movies really need good acting. Kat is suited for Salman Khan movies and wherever there is minimal screen time.

She can act well once in a well- she was actually the best part of Zero and also exceptional in Namastey London..plus she has created chemistry with some of her co-actors as well.

However, noone owes it to her to praise her to the skies in the acting department either..or she cant just go around demanding national award etc, for average performances either.

Her grumpiness over not being appreciated enough as an actor is annoying. Specially when projects were on her shoulders and she was delivering duds one after the other, when movies were strongly performance oriented like Fitoor etc..
