She doesnt evaluate him on husband level yet. But her admiration for him always is there. May be she doesnt shower him direct praise, but she did use those superlatives with him several times, no?

At times she has compared Virat to her Abha and have said he is not equivalent to her Aaba’s toe nail . She has compared him to her Abha when she is happy and when she was angry so I am not sure how to take it . Does she consider him as her Abha or she is disappointed that he is not . Even Virat’s response has confused me in this scenario. In few occasions , he was not happy that she compared him to her father ( not when she was angry but during happy moments ) . Sorry if I am deviating from the topic .

Now that you reminded me yes she has praised about Virat for his help to Pulkit . She believes he is a good human being who has helped her .

I think the distinction here is not that she considers Virat her abba, but she has given the spot that was previously held by abba in her life to Virat. Before, abba was her entire world... her everything. And now, Virat holds that title for her. In the aftermath of the Pulkit lunch drama, Sai tells Virat that her abba never caused her this much pain, and yet she still compared Virat to him. There are many qualities that the two share, which is why Sai is always comparing Virat to her abba. In many ways, she does see parts of her abba in Virat. But, at the end of the day, they are not the same person, and Sai recognizes that. To her, it is more about the value of Virat in her life. This is why I understood where she was coming from when she touched Virat's feet on her birthday. Virat is now the person she respects, admires, adores, and loves the most.. despite all of his shortcomings. This is the same reason why she felt as if she had no come yesterday and was completely alone in the world... she forgot that she has aai, Mohit, Devi, etc.. because the most important person to her is Virat, and that is why his words hurt her so deeply.

I don't think that Virat has ever been unhappy that she is comparing him to her abba. He recognizes the place that abba held in her life, and he is deeply flattered that she sees parts of her abba in him.. especially since abba was also his mentor. Even in the feet touching scene on her birthday, when she was doing it, Virat was crying tears of joy. It was only afterwards when he noticed how she was with Ajinkya and the rest of her friends that it bothered him. This was again his insecurities coming out and their lack of communication. Because, from Sai's perspective, she touched his feet since there is no one else more important to her in this world... she wanted his blessing, because of how deeply she admires him. But, from Virat's perspective, he took it to mean that she sees him as an older man taking care of her rather than as a husband.

I didn't think that Virat looked like he was upset for being compared to abba during the food scene post-alta hungama. When Sai tells him that he is the first person to feed her like this besides abba, he had a slight smile on his face and he continued feeding her. In terms of the Amay fight, I actually just rewatched that scene recently. The way I understood it, Sai tells Virat that if it were her abba, he would have praised her for exposing Amay, but here, Virat is getting mad at her. Then, Virat says that he is not as "mahan" as Kamal Sir, and that he respects him deeply too, but there is a world outside of his words. I took this to be Sai negatively comparing the two, not positively. So, it seems to be, that Virat has never had a problem with Sai positively comparing him to her abba. In terms of him saying that there is a world outside his words, when abba was alive, it was just him and Sai. But, now, Sai's actions have consequences not just for Virat, but also for the rest of the family. Virat wasn't mad that Sai exposed Amay, but he was mad at the way in which she did it, because it created problems in the family. At that time, he did not properly understand Sai like he does now, and also, Sai did not understand the rules and the regulations of the family as she does now... yes she is still her old self, but she has demonstrated some progress in terms of living with a joint family that she didn't know how to live with before.

Just my POV!

Really interesting conversation 😊

I too think he took pride when she compared him to Aaba. And I agree with Pooja's POV above. nothing else to add.

Bottomline of my topic is that she thinks too highly of him that she questions herself if she did wrong when he suspects her. Which is totally wrong.. If he sees her just as her husband, she can clearly see where his accusations are coming from, and understand him better. Then she can forgive him, while fully accepting that he committed a mistake.

I also noticed this scene - I don't remember the exact words, but I think he says something like he is not her aaba? I have always felt intrigued by that dialogue.

Maybe, on one hand he feels flattered that she compares him to her aaba - who for her is the most important person. Sometimes, eapecially when he wants her to understand his feelings, he senses that she keeps him in a pedestal?

I completely agree with this! I think a part of it also might be that he, too, looks up to her abba. Maybe a part of him knows that he will never be able to give up to that expectation- hence the mahan dialogue during the Amay fight. While the two may share many similarities, he wants Sai to see him for who he is outside of those similarities too….

Even I felt he wasn’t happy being compared . He respects KJ a lot and has high regards for him and he doesn’t like the pressure that comes up with it when she compares him to his mentor . Same time he wants her to expand her world and not be a frog in a well .

Wonderful post Saiditi.

I think Virat understood why Sai compares him with Aba. Sai’s world is too small and her exposure to outside world is too less. Her whole world revolved round her Aba since she is motherless. So it is quite natural for her to feel Virat as good as her Aba in every way. At the same time she threw him off the pedestal when she got hurt by saying he is nothing before her Aba.

Virat’s problem is not him getting the place given to Aba in Sai’s heart. He has a problem with her perception of him as someone from another league higher than her and this makes the man mad specially after watching how Sai interacts with her friends group. Add to that Sai’s occasional teasing about his age, calling him buzurg..Virat felt desperate and quite disheartened. His insecurities landed him in mess where he could see his love fighting the battle for her lifebreaths.

Seeing Virat in hospital ,I felt he is all alone though rounded up by all the members of his family. None could feel his regret and pain that is eating him from within. He stood there fighting his own battle of regret, remorse, and shivering with the thought of losing his whole worldiwithin minutes due to his thoughtless behaviour towards his innocent, young wife.

Virat was more unfortunate than Sai who could gain the heartfelt support of Pulkit and Mohit though she is an orphan.

I wish Sai recovers and learn to gauze through the depths of her Virat Sir’s heart where only she lives and no one else. I hope she addresses his insecurities by revealing how precious and dear he is to her and how her whole existence seemed meaningless when suspected by him regarding her equation with Ajinkya. Sai the girl should turn into the woman who could feel Virat’s spotless love for her.
