They can but men in showbiz need to be careful when it comes to intimacy and kissing, i.e. asking to improvise such things. Head touching is still decent but other types of gestures are tricky.

I don't think Sai does it but many male actors suddenly kiss their female costars in the middle of a scene without warning them or talking to the director about it because that's not in the script, in the name of improvisation and then trouble starts.

Sai will never do that, he is not even touching her when they're not shooting the scene. Kissing is something he will never do when that isn't on a script and Shivangi is also professional actor so both will discuss the scene and they'll do it. New director will get it done well.
