I agree. But its a two way street. When they see past Sai's "flaws" as they perceive it, they Will regret their actions n words n hopefully they will get a solid redemption too.
This is where the problem lies - characterization. Chavans are not horrible to Sai because they think she is a bad person or that they are old-fashioned - it is who they are. Ashwini fits the bill for a sanskaari, aadarsh bahu - she is soft, doesn't question authority, slogs away for the family - she gets the same treatment as Sai. Which proves that its all about power and nothing to do with their perception of people.
