The Sound Of Music Vs Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!

The Sound Of Music and Hum Aapke Hain Koun have alot of things common with each other.

Both are feel good movies.

Both are family dramas with a love story at it's core.

Both are musicals.

Both movies don't really have an evil character, giving a feel that it's set in an alternate universe.

Lastly, both movies were record breaking huge grossers at the box office and went on to become classics.

In my opinion, they feel like Hollywood and Bollywood counterparts of each other.

The nazis in SoM? It was very much set in the real world of 2nd world War. It was a musical adaptation of Maria von Trapp's biographical story.

Sound of music doesn’t have single evil character because it had multiple evil characters aka the Nazis 🤔

Even the Hindi adaptation "Parichay" of SoM is incomparable with HAHK...

Even the real Maria was not as sweet and nice as they portrayed in that movie... She was nowhere near evil and a loving and caring person of course

But according to the children she had a terrible temper,

“She tended to erupt in angry outbursts consisting of yelling, throwing things, and slamming doors. Her feelings would immediately be relieved and good humor restored, while other family members, particularly her husband, found it less easy to recover. And from one moment to the next, you didn't know what hit her.”

Maria herself said she was ‘horrid, the worst you can imagine’, during her convent stay.

The father on the other hand was a warm and gentle person and the children were given musical lessons long before Maria arrived.
