Niraja your post exactly described how the episode is. I feel the writers themselves are confused and so Sai also looked self contradictory and confused like never before. May be her state of mind is in a mess . She is not able to decide whether she can accept the marital bond in true sense or not. Virat did not come up clear on his past but in a way he did. I doubt with no promo released,they may go ahead with with the dreaded track! Just my fear since they are maintaining secrecy Reg future track.

Your title is an apt description of how I have felt as a whole regarding Sai's birthday sequence - all over the place, be it the Sairat sequences, (although I did love them, but that has more to do with Neil and Ayesha's amazing chemistry when they are together onscreen), the Pakhi drama, dining table sequences (Kaku serving all of them out of the blue, the aashirwad part - why repeat something that has already been beautifully done during her result announcement), and Sai's friends coming to visit to wish her happy birthday.

And the bedroom sequence today...definitely foreshadowing towards something we do not want to see. Virat's frustrations about not being able to express his feeling to Sai is clearly coming through. I am still keeping hope that they execute things a little differently but at the same time, we know that might not be the case.

Sai does not know how she feels and I completely get that but it is time that they start showing some sort of introspection about her feelings and also her paying attention to what Virat is telling her in the moment.

But after that the episode is all over the place. I understand both their confusions and hesitancy but out loud both of them are contradicting their own statements.

Sai's sui is stuck on leaving. She is now clearly seeing virat behaving like a husband and having expectations of one. I'd understand if she doesn't feel ready to be in a marriage with him because she is still really young, and coming to terms with the fact that he had a past and she isnt his first choice, but that should reflect in her words too. So I wish she had got dislogues to exhibit what her problem truly is. and if she is not in a position to truly feel husband-wifey with virat then she should neither accept the ruby pendant nor the diamond ring. Because unlike other things like balloons, cakes n candy floss and decoration, these are very extravagant gifts that only someone like a husband gifts to a wife. So even if intention is birthday, the gift cannot be accepted. And it doesn't make sense to that Virat cant come clean in clear words. Pasand karne laga hoon, thoda pasand- but not the words pyaar. But he has come very far. He said that Sai is very special and important.

But the issue is that Viray needs to first tell Sai marriage is NOT a deal before love confession. Because at this point Sai is guarding herself from accepting him as a lover n husband because she doubts the sincerity of it. She doesn't foubt his righteousness n sincerity as a person, police officer- but as a "husband/lover" she doesn't trust him. Thats the problem. Because she will always feel like pp was his first choice....i wish Sai got dialogues to demonstrate her insecurity....

So with Virat's words, Sai is not sure if she should feel that he is affectionate or that he loves her. And if he loves her, is that genuine, is that forever or is it just affection/habituation mistaken for love.... But for virat- even if its Sai's refusal thats the problem, is it worth all the confusion/regret and heartache of not confessing his own feelings in clear words. Although if he had confessed, I'm not sure Sai would accept it right now but it'd force her to reply one way or another. And if she rejected his proposal she would be kinda forced to explain why and in the process maybe she'd let slip her insecurities more clearly...

Sai was getting visibly upset at virat suggesting something between her n ajinkya- but then she was saying she cant take gift, but still let him pehnao the ring anyway, saying she will leave but she cant hear him talk about dying, it breaks her. She talks about wanting to be in touch with him even if she leaves CN, but in her mind voice- she is asking herself why she said out loud what she did- it all shows the utter confusion in the inner workings of Sai's mind. The war between her mind and heart in a sense. I guess a 19 yo teenager is going to be all over the place but i don't know how much of the confusion of a young girl like Sai which came through in this episode is deliberate and how much its a product of dialogue writing being problematic with original dialogues and KD dialogues not syncing together....

It was notable that virat finally said at least one thing clearly- i dont believe in looking at my past. But is him saying that enough for Sai to believe it? Because after saying this, he cannot be shown getting instigated and manipulated by pp....if he is then Sai will never believe him saying pp is his past.

But Today Sai was an utter mess unlike her usually more rational self. Her emotions are all over the place. She contradicted her own words and actions several times in the same scene and Virat also didnt ask for clarifications in those moments. Rather He seems to have decided that whatever he can get from her, he will take and be satisfied.... He seems content that love confession nahi hua toh bhi atleast she liked the ring, agreed to wear it and he makes her promise that no matter what happens she wont take it off. And that if she gave him the ring back, it'd be the end of their relationship. And Sai very confidently says that their relationship wont end so easily which makes him smile.

I'm really hoping that after introducing this insecurity track in a way that is slightly different from KD , they dont ruin it by lifting KD scenes.

Lovely post, Neerja. I agree that this entire episode was one big jalebi. I have tried to make sense of it in my post, and I would love your thoughts on that too.

You know, this might be the unpopular opinion, but the contradictions in today's episode actually made me feel deeply for both Sai and Virat. It captured the state of their minds and the state of their relationship in a bittersweet way, even though it did make my head hurt. I watched the scene 4 times in order to truly be able to understand what they were saying.

I actually do not think that Sai is stuck on leaving. That was clear in her words when she said that even when she does leave, their bond will remain, because it is not that weak. She does not want to leave Virat... that is clear to me. But, in her mind, she is going to have to leave, because this marriage is a deal. It all comes back to the vaada. Like you have said, she is seeing Virat doing everything that a husband does for a wife. Not just on her birthday, but everything leading up to this day as well. She knows damn well that she is not just a zimidari to him, but she is unable to accept that. That is exactly why she asks him in what regard he is giving her the ring. Because she is confused. Everything he does suggests that this is real, and yet he won't SAY it. Words matter tremendously, especially to a girl who was as vulnerable as Sai was on her wedding day. This is the tragedy of SaiRat right now...they keep going in circles. Virat tries to confess, not realizing that he needs to tell Sai this marriage is real first so that she can accept his love and this relationship. To him, the vaada is no more, but he needs to realize that is not the case for Sai. Sai stops him from confessing, because she cannot comprehend how he can love her since this marriage isn't even real to him in her mind. And then, seeing Sai's reaction, Virat once again stops himself, because he does not want to lose her. The ring scene spoke volumes today. Even though he wanted to give it to her as her husband, he settled for giving it to her as a simple gift, because he will continue loving her however he can. And if that means being stuck in this undefined relationship for the time being, he is okay with that.

Not a clear proposal but he did say he likes her and doesn't want her to leave. Sai also made him say the ring was birthday gift and wouldn't accept it if it were like a gift a husband would give a wife as a token of love 😂.

Based on this statement either she kind of has an inkling of his feelings or she is just testing to see if he will openly confess 😂. Either which way did not look like she was going to accept love or no love without making Veeru cry buckets.

In the upcoming track, I think more than sai committing suicide virat should commit suicide! Lol! it will make more sense, he has managed to traumatise himself and sai is only adding fuel to fire! lol!

It was indeed all over the place. For the first time I couldn't understand SaiRat. Earlier there conversation used to be very raw. Today it looked liked forced in order to strech the story.

I totally can understand Chavans annoyance seeing Sai's friends at this hour.Its her sasural after all. She hugged Ajinkya in front of the elders didn't go down well which is understandable. But it's the same elders enjoyed watching her dancing with another man 😆.

Virat jealousy that also quite understandable. He still doesn't know that Sai loves her. He sees sai's future in Ajinkya 😆.one could be they are both going to be doctors second he thinks due to there age gap Sai is probably more comfortable with Ajinkya.

Finally Virat was opening up. He has given enough hints. But what is stopping Sai to believe. 😒😕

Is it because she was never his first choice. Everyone has a past so does virat that doesn't mean you have to stuck at that point. Today I felt both Sai and Pakhi stuck on a non existence past.As a result both ended up hurting themselves only.

I agree with sai if anything there is between them like normal spouses it would have happened long back. Practically no man and wife live like this together being in a spousal relationship. Virat would be happy if only Sai keeps that ring on her finger forever , because it signifies there togetherness.Sai was yawning to hear that ring is gifted from a husband with love not just a birthday present.

Virat comment about sai being ajinkya wife is so gross. She just celebrated her birthday with her friends which includes a guy. Irony sai calling virat old is being discussed here most than how virat questioned sai character indirectly today by making cheap comments on sai- ajinkya. Sai used to call virat old in previous episodes too but neither virat nor fans find it wrong. Because it was taken as funny way but now virat is insecure so it became wrong. But for sai it is same. For her teasing him about his age is normal & part of their nok jok. Sai just celebrated her birthday with her male friend & danced with him on college function. It itself is enough to make virat doubt sai character. That much he trust the person whom he claims know more than her👏. Even if he think sai loves someone else how does it gives him right to question her character. Because their marriage is not real, sai never said she loves him & most imp he is the person who wanted to love his bhabi throughout his life despite being married. He gets irritated when a guy along with his friends comes to his home to celebrate his wife's birthday late night just for one time but he never had problem when his ex comes to his room late night infinite times & taunts his wife. He spent alone time with his ex in his room many times at late night. He not even once thought how sai must have felt that time when he can't even stand a male friend near to her. Yes I admire Sai Joshi and I am her strong supporter but I feel she went overboard repeating buzurg comment again. Once it is fun,twice ok but not again. Anyone in Virat’s place may get hurt and it is natural to react and fume.
