I think a lot of the problem just comes down to the fact that the makers are not willing to do anything except copy paste. The last part of what you have written- about Virat telling Sai that this is a real marriage- I have been saying the same thing for quite some time now. More than a confession of love, this is what Sai needs to hear. That is the biggest roadblock in her mind. When Sai asked Virat who he is to her during the post-college festival fight, you could see the desperation in her eyes. She wanted him to TELL her that he is her husband and she is his wife...not because of some zimidari, but because this is the realest and purest relationship in his life. We have seen time and time again that Sai has said she does not understand Virat...and this is exactly why. Because, his actions show how deeply he loves her, but looming over it all, are the dreaded words he said to her on their wedding day. Many will say that Sai should be able to see that Virat loves her and that it is obvious. Well, she does...but she is unable to accept that love as the type of love that a husband gives to his wife. She won't be able to until this marriage is made real, and only Virat can do that. As the episodes are progressing, she is seeing Virat's unwavering affection and concern for her more and more. You can see that she is in love in her eyes...just in this birthday track, when they bumped into each other during the dance and when he was dressing her wound...during these two scenes, she was so clearly smitten by Virat. But, every time she gives into her feelings, she is reminded about the infamous vaada. This is a never ending cycle... if only the makers could give us an original scene of Virat telling her that this marriage is real...what a scene that would be. I guess we will just have to wait until the confession happens though.
About what you said about Virat trying to be her abba, I really disagree with that. Virat knows the place abba holds in Sai's life, and he himself has said that he cannot even come close to comparing to him. Yes, he wants to make sure that Sai never feels his absence, because he knows that prior to him, abba was her entire life...and to me, that is beautiful. Using the modhak scene from today as an example, it is so clear to me that Virat simply wants Sai to keep the memory of her abba alive forever, and if that can happen through Virat, he will do anything to make it happen.

agree but virat will forever be feeling she’s much younger than me .. because Sai by touching his feet .. then telling he did it for orphan Sai .. made it like mentor ward relationship.. he is well off and he gave a grand party for his ward .. it was sweet he kept on mentioning his dad .. but my mind it was overdone .. considering everything was done in the past 2-3 hours .. she remembered dad , then he put her dad ka pic , fed the cake to abba .. now making the modak could have been spared for a later event like an excellent result .. let us not forget he also presented her with a diamond ring , sang for her danced for her and gave her a grand party with princess dress ..

See, I have different takes on the ashirwaad and orphan scenes. I'll talk about the orphan scene first. Sai's main intention there was to defend Virat from Pakhi. She said that Virat has the biggest heart and he is celebrating the birthday of a girl with no family. During the bed tea scene, Virat told Sai that she needs to focus on his actions to see how deeply he cares for her. In that moment, Sai was so over come with emotions. She had no one after her abba, and she thought she would be forever alone, and yet, Virat proved her wrong. Sai only wanted him to wish her happy birthday, and yet, he went above and beyond. He got the entire family involved to, because he knows the significance family holds to her. Virat gave the girl who had no one, everyone. Even during that scene, you could see the love for him in her eyes. She even told Pakhi that this shows how much Virat loves everyone...so without realizing it, she did accept his love for her. Yes, in her mind, she is not able to consciously label that love as that one gives to her husband. But, the tears in Virat's eyes said it all. He was so overcome by emotions that Sai was seeing him, praising him, defending him...
In terms of the ashirwaad scene, again, I think it was a moment in which Sai was overcome with emotions. The ashirwaad scene from the college admission track is still one of my favorite SaiRat moments until date. Yes, normally we see such scenes in between a younger and elder person. But, at the end of the day, it is a sign of respect and a showcase of love. And that is exactly what Sai wanted to do. Could they have used a hug scene or something else instead, sure. But, I think that Sai knows that Virat's blessing is what has gotten her this far since her abba passed away, and in that moment, she was just feeling an immense sense of gratitude. And blessings can come from anyone- even an husband. I will agree that Virat's dialogues were a little bit fatherly sounding in response.
In terms of what you have said about Sai seeing her abba in Virat, I think that has always been the case. Not in the sense that she thinks of Virat as a fatherly figure, but there have been qualities that she has found to be similar in both men. And for Virat to remind Sai of her abba, is the highest and deepest praise Virat could ever get from her.
I was very much touched by how he asked her to feed abba first and also the modak scene. Yes, it has been abba overload for the past few episodes, but we have to understand this is Sai’s first birthday without him and Virat wants to make extra sure that she does not feel that emptiness.
The thing is that Sai and Virat have something that is deeper than a lot of couples in reality are able to develop even after years of marriage. They see each other, they respect each other, and before anything else- they are family. Any couple can flirt with each other and be romantic, but developing this deep sense of connection is very rare. That is what drew me to them in the first place. Unlike other love stories we see on TV, nothing was forced.
The sexual attraction has always been there. You can see it in their eyes, you can see it in the way that they both get flustered when they get close to each other. We would like the makers to explore this aspect more, and that I agree has been a constant let down.
I don’t think that Sai could ever even think of flirting with ajinkya or anyone else for that matter, because what attracts Sai to people is their character. Their hearts. And as we have seen in the past few episodes, to her, Virat is the epitome of this. One particular scene was when Virat was attending to her wound…the love was literally pouring out of her eyes watching him take care of her.

He tries to make sure she doesn’t miss her father so he did few things to include her Aaba but at the same time he acted as her husband too . Will a father wpull her daughter to a secluded place like he did and look for privacy to gift a ring . In the past too , he has rolled over her to eat laado , flirted with her by saying she is beautiful than a moon , grabbed her while dancing in their room , tried kissing her during Holi and in Harini’s birthday.
