Thanks Neerja! Loved reading your post as usual- I always look forward to it.
Here's my take on the episode-
I actually really enjoyed the car scene. Maybe that will turn out to be an unpopular opinion. The way Virat was getting so nervous was really cute. I especially loved the dialogue where Sai told him that she has never seen him this flustered, and he said that he has never said those words before either. This moment really showed yet again that Sai is the first and only person that Virat has ever loved. I'm sad the scene was cut short, but hopefully we will see some sort of continuation of it at night when Virat will personally put the ring on Sai. My truest hope would be that he also ends the zimidari saga, but I know that won't happen. So, instead, I'm hoping for a meaningful conversation that progresses their relationship another step forward.
I was not as annoyed as some other people about Sai leaving the car so quickly for KaKu. This is the first day where the entire family has been there to celebrate her, and the drama from them has been relatively low. She is on cloud 9, and we all know the significance family holds for her.
You are right- there is nothing worth getting so deep into about the Pakhi drama. But, I really loved how Virat told her that her karma is catching up to her and that there is no harm in saying one bitter thing to the person who only says bitter words. His expressions were also those of disgust. At this point, he is truly 100% over her and her antics. Yesterday, he said that he knows better than anyone else in the family how much Pakhi hates Sai. After all of this, it will be a complete butcher of his character for him to be instigated by anything negative she says about Sai. So, with the upcoming kaand, the least the makers must must must do is to prevent him from falling for Pakhi's words. There will be no justifying that. I have written in some other topics about his impulsivity and how he gets caught in his emotions as we all know, so saying things he doesn't mean to Sai out jealously, insecurity, love, fear...that is honestly to be expected (although I am still daily manifesting and praying to god that he does NOT cross the limit...the kind of love he is in now, he should stop short of the character assassination regardless of how emotional he becomes). But, Pakhi should not be a part of that equation.
I loved how Virat stopped arguing with Pakhi the second Sai asked him to. He really does want to make this day as special for her as possible, and there is nothing more important to him than her wishes.
The ashirwaad scene felt kind of odd to me... it was too father-daughter vibes for me, unlike the ashirwaad scene after Sai's admission, which is till this date one of my favorite SaiRat moments.
Then, the highlight of the episode. The modak scene. It was simply beautiful. This birthday track has truly given us some of the best emotional moments of this show until date. Sai's squeal upon realizing Virat made them was priceless. And the way that Virat finished Sai's sentence and already knew that her abba made the modaks on every special occasion. He even told her that he wishes he could have tried her abba's modaks. This scene, to me, is the essence of SaiRat. It is more beautiful to me than any other traditional romantic scene. It just yet again shows the extent of Virat's deep deep deep affection and understanding for Sai. Sai's face when Virat was telling her all of that was that of a girl in complete awe. Sai isn't accepting her feelings, but she is falling so so so hard in love.
Regarding your analysis of Sai's response to Pakhi about how Virat is just making a girl with no family feel special, I actually didn't mind it. Virat's heart is what drew her to him in the first place, and she is just overcome with emotions. She had no one, and now through Virat, she has everyone. Of course she will not acknowledge that it is a husband's love, because she has not accepted it as such yet. Seeing the tears in his eyes in response to her praises of him was also so beautiful.
Now, moving on to the negatives.
Words cannot explain how much I hated Pakhi's dialogue of if Virat had shown himat on the day it mattered, things would be a lot different. Is this girl ever ever going to move on??? It was just too much.
As you mentioned, the body doubles were glaringly obvious again. I noticed it especially during the dining table full shots, where the guy sitting in Neil's place was way shorter than him. Again, how hard is it to invest in a BD who actually looks like the ML? The sloppiness continues. I really hope they are seeing our posts on SM and this forum and that they will take our concerns into consideration.
Finally, I am really holding on to some positive hope that the track next week will not be what we are thinking. Whatever the kaand is, I hope it is modified to account for how deeply in love with Sai Virat is...Rono's love did not even come close.
