Imlie is 19 yrs... there have been marriages where the age gap between the partners is > 10 years and in Adilie's case - 14 years... age gap.

Think of some celeb couples who have such a big age gap and have made a go of things.. Milind Soman.. who is Haawwt even in his late 50's... is married to someone who is 20 yrs his junior... I mean to each his own... the thing is we as a society are ok with things, as long as it does not affect you directly. It is happening somewhere else with someone else, it is fine and dandy. When it comes to bite your ass, then you react violently as the T's are doing. 🤣

See Nim, the age gap is not the issue, the class gap is. If Dev had recognised her earlier, before they came to know the truth of the marriage and given her that haq along with her mom, where she would have actually been Malini's sister, the T's would have not reacted so violently. Their issue here is that she is illegitimate as AC will not allow Dev to accept her as his in society. They feel like ek toh she is from gaon, working for them and now they find she is najayaz as well, that too Dev's daughter, matlab Meethi had an affair with a married man, which reinforced their opinion that Imlie must have picked up this gun from her mom. So yeah, none of this is working in her favor, so that just makes it worse.

From the time Imlie came face to face with Malini after she came to know that Dev is her father, Malini didn’t look at her face properly even once. Touch me not ki jaise side se chali jaathi hai. It is a good thing, it helped Imlie came out of her didi prem and guilt quickly, atleast for now.
