I’m loving all these topics they’re tackling!!

I’m glad to see that even without Shaurya’s vote, Anokhi would’ve gotten the position. I also liked seeing women on the SIAC board! Aastha did see something on Shaurya’s face, so it makes me hopeful that she will talk to him. This must be deja vu of Shastha! On a side note, Anokhi adresses Shaurya as just Shaurya. Did anyone else notice?

My Shakhi date!! I wanted a longer dance to match their Vday dance, but still cute. I hope they hold true to their promise that they won’t go to bed angry. This is really hard to do in real life. But it was nice to see Anokhi being so cute about spending quality time with her pati. Those heart balloons made a come back!!

Devi is soooo irritating. Why do you want your son to be miserable? Ego and zid are two words synonymous with Shaurya and Anokhi! It will be their downfall! And Shaurya being embarrassed was legit but to not hear her reason before exploding, isn’t acceptable. Anokhi needs to stand up to Devi about all these mundane chores.

Name change conflict!!! I love it!! As someone who didn’t change her name post marriage, I’m so on Anokhi’s side on this. But this conflict isn’t organic to their relationship though. Shaurya has been calling her Mrs Sabherwal since sindoor shaadi and she’s never been offended. Not sure if it’s the legal changing of her name that she has an issue with. We’ll get more insight tomorrow.

I love marital conflict handled this way on ITV. Shakhi never really dealt with these issues because they never had a normal courtship. And some conflicts only come up post marriage during the adjustment period. Shaurya just has to remember that he fell for the stubborn and righteous girl. Those were attractive qualities then and it should not be tamped down for his comfort.

Also loved hearing about the Bhalla institute! Her dream goes to the core of who she is. She knows that financial independence comes with education, and to want to pass that opportunity onto others is noble.

Traditionally, both the first and last name would be changed. In my culture, there is a specific ceremony during the wedding where the groom writes the brides post-marriage name. and with that she is identified as with her post-marriage name. then the legal name-change happens while getting a marriage certificate I think. over the years now its voluntary as far as i have seen and in most cases, involves just the last name.

I have seen all women in previous and current generations in my family in India change their names - first and/or last names. So as a kid when i got to know my mom had a different maiden name it was very surprising for me. my bhabhi willingly asked to change her name both first and last and it was done only with her consent.

I personally do not like that idea and now, I will not change any of my names but if I was in India, i sadly would have taken up my husband's last name or would have hyphenated it. because that's what i have seen women do. Shows like these or more discussions around this topic will make more women aware that it should be their choice and not something done under the label of 'parampara'

I know it’s a small topic but the name change is such a valid hit to the patriarchy. The one that treats women as men’s property. I love that more and more newer generation girls aren’t changing their name. Most of my cousins didn’t in India. And none of my sister in laws did either.

Another great episode!

I had always heard of people taking advantage of their relationships and family in career, never thought I would see a family trying so hard to make sure that their DIL does not get her fair dues. Tej was depending on Shaurya to oppose the idea so that it would be a tie and he could ensure that Anokhi not get the position. I am also glad Shaurya was not responsible for her getting the role.

Shaurya is fighting so hard to do the right thing. Devi has stirred up his insecurities and he is plagued by his fears of being abandoned but he is still trying so hard to do the right and fair thing not because of Anokhi but because he would have done this for anybody. However he is fearful and his fear is going slowly and gradually overshadow their love or atleast that is the everyone's expectation. He could not even participate in his wife's happiness and her romantic date wholeheartedly. This is from a guy who could not keep his hands off his wife. I am however surprised that Anokhi could not sense his conflict or the fact that his smile did not reach his eyes today. Shaurya hesitated making a new promise today that he would have made happily a few days earlier. He needs to understand it is unhappy spouses that walk away from marriage not ones that are happy and feel loved. No one feels loved and happy when they feel like they are being controlled and treated like a puppet.

Devi is just too cheap. No affluent household asks their new DIL to go and deposit electricity bill these days. Anything to make Anokhi come across as incompetent and incapable. As expected she runs late and suddenly everyone blames Shaurya (even though they voted for her too) and he feels embarrassed. He is insecure, he is frustrated, he is embarrassed and he is getting pulled in all different directions with no clarity hence the outburst. Anokhi does need to get smart and understand that she cannot balance BM's expectations with her dreams not because it cannot be done but because she is being set up for failure purposely. She also does not realize her perceived failure will also impact her marital life drastically. As for Shaurya, I am still surprised that he has that much trust on BM after all she has done. Also he was never shy about sharing his thoughts and feelings with Anokhi but I feel he has not been sharing his inner thoughts with her lately and that is the most scary part in the way their relationship is progressing.

Next up is the issue of name changing. I get Anokhi's discomfort but that is the whole reason that the issue was bought up by Devi. I am also surprised that Anokhi had no problem being called Mrs Anokhi Shaurya Sabherwal until now but suddenly she has huge problem. I also do not agree with Anokhi's argument that name changing is like treating her as property based on precap. Association of names is not a sign of possession but rather can be sign of partnership. In any case this will stir up Shaurya's insecurity even more. I hope Shaurya has a better solution to this and he has given some thought to it. I am hoping he does not go for something as drastic as changing his name but rather shoots for adding Sabherwal at the end of her current name. She gets to retain her identity but gets a boost from Sabherwal name too.

It is odd how love works, in real life I have seen too many married couples struggle with the very traits that attracted them to their spouses to begin with. Anokhi is in an impossible situation. It is not her fault that her husband has insecurities and that he is constantly being put into a position where he feels like he is fighting a war with his family. Though I am unsure if Anokhi has any realization of that or what toll it is taking on Shaurya. Even the most skilled warriors need a break and peace.

Loved her dream, I hope she achieves it with her husband by her side. I also hope that they get rid of this toxic family once and for all or truly send Tejvilok to Haridwar to repent for all their sins.

Very interesting input. Would like to give my 2 cents on the name change part. If you remember the conference scene, Shaurya called anokhi, anokhi Bhalla. Her smile, surprise and happiness were quite evident. I think she always wanted to keep her name. Women are often conditioned to be called by their husbands surname so hearing it and legally changing it everywhere are 2 completely different things. And in the end it's about choice. That a woman can make and change. I kind of agree with her on the possession part, sometimes society does make a husband's name feel like a stamp. But it's a very to each her own thing here. Ideally a lot of women add their husbands name to their own as a sign of partnership and some don't. But I think, the issue here is of choice and respecting her thoughts (which can change) because it's her name.

Whatever the makers are showing..I'm liking it.The plot with which the story started had to have a closure and they are just doing that.But the hiccup is that they don't have much time in hand .This is a strong plot which needed a elaborate period to explore ...I'm skeptical enough ,how would they do justice to this track and give the show a logical and happy ending.

How low can Devi fall!!!😡In order to control Shaurya's married life, she simply is playing with his mind and hurting him ...making him vulnerable and his life miserable.Shaurya is continously fighting with his inner demons and trying hard to be a support to Anokhi's dreams.But when someone goes on instigating a person ....he is then very much liable to crumble.The women is continously playing with his insecurities and he is fearing to loose his most loved person ,Anokhi every moment.How much he tries to smile but the fear is still there.We saw that ...when he was dancing with Anokhi.He repeated the words "quality time"when Anokhi said that she wants to spend quality time with her husband.It was like he was seeking an assurance from her that she will be there for him always.I didn't find the dance romantic but for me it looked like an assurance from Anokhi and soothing his husband's heart. She also fears the hurdles coming,fight of ideologies erupting but still they need to solve all the differences by communicating and become stronger in relationship.They need to have a peaceful sleep without any worries. Shaurya's insecurity are creating a havoc in his mind...a glimpse of which came to forefront at selection procedure,when he handed the letter to Anokhi that she was selected and during the dance.Astha did notice Shaurya's expressions..I think she would play a role in making him understand. I hope Gayatri and Kanchan tell Shaurya how BM is making life hard for Anokhi ...he seems to be getting moulded by his BM's words.

See I could never understand this name change. We dont have this in Islam. Its only in Countries that require surname to prove you are married we change in passport for visa purposes. I havent changed mine.

In India its very common to change surnames afta marriage...

Whn i decided to retain my maiden surname n had no objection 4m either family bt guess what !! I was asked to give in writing wid reason y do i wanna retain my maiden surname by d passport office official (10 yrs back) 😁

I kept thinking k kya likhu i mean what explaination is needed 😜

I have a teeny tiny feeling that Anokhi will try to convince Shaurya at night when they are talking about it. He may not tell her what he thinks but he will think bout it and when BM asks 'name change ke baare main socha tumne?' he will say change the name, but for both of us. Anokhi shaurya sabherwal and Shaurya anokhi bhalla and then he will give his reasons for why he should also change his name if the same thing is expected out of Anokhi. This is a long shot especially because I dont how much Anokhi convinces him. But if they want to move on, this topic will end soon and we know he will make sure Anokhi's sapna is fulfilled.

Or a more plausible explanation would be that he suggests bhalla-sabherwal. and maybe BM BP wont go for it, Anokhi might. The new institute could also be Bhalla-Sabherwal

True! I know a lot of people are disappointed that only back to back issues are being shown. But these are important valid issues.

I am hoping when Anokhi and Shaurya talk it out we will get more clarity. One thing though, I was not impressed with the not your property dialogue, that was uncalled for, especially when all this time she was happy being called Anokhi Shaurya Sabarwal. But another thing I love is, they always discuss issues in their room.

As for the precap, I am keeping my faith in the writers as always, that it’s misleading and Shaurya would suggest either name change for both or hyphenated name but with Anokhi’s consent!

I feel the mounting pressure on anokhi will make Aastha reveal her side of the story. why she had to leave SM is one thing out of all the issues she had faced there. So i hope she shares her experience with her son as well. or if he is too conflicted, he may ask her too.

I really wish they had given at least a month more to the show, they would have been able to show all these tracks beautifully and with actors we have, it would have been a treat to watch.

Yes Aastha needs to talk. To both Shaurya and Anokhi. But mostly to Shaurya. He needs to know what conspired and he was snatched not abandoned. Coz that’s not something he knows yet.
