I am so tired of the trp topic now. Honestly, while the business is about trp yes ( as it affects the sponsors i guess?), the show was not lacking content for trp. I completely disagree to that!

First, the system is broken 44k vs the entire population? Seriously? but i guess we cant change that can we?

Second, idk, does the channel even look into any market research before picking up content or its like, copy and paste. This show was around a slightly frowned upon relationship and was picked up from a completely different demographic and put into a completely different demographic. (unfortunately, they are used to multiple weddings, plastic surgeries and vamps but not this!) . The professor - student relationship , received backlash! Even until recently, you could see comments against the same on TT.

Honestly, it was a pure college love story (with focus on soch and complexity of relationships eg shaurya-astha). When did the channel do a college love story the last time? or a show with sensible complex relationships which are not triangles? Even when the drama here was OTT max the trp was 1.3 which and I honestly think would not have gone upto 1.5-1.6 as it never had many elements of ITV dramas. Star should have shifted it to 11pm a long time back!

The way the storyline was executed, the show was always meant for a niche audience, because it essentially was a youth based fast paced college love story (until the wedding) and it did break a lot of itv clichés for a single show in 6 months.The channel wanted to attract trp audience, but never gave trp audience attracting promos. As it is promotion was lacking plus the never used soch or the "sindoor wedding" in promos. Shows with lesser trp on different channels are doing just fine, so i guess its about the channel more than anything.

Also, from what I can see, a lot of audience of this show is overseas. I am not sure what kind of impact would that have had on TRP's and the show has always done much better overseas than here.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but progressive content does not work here on itv. Not just saakk, from what binging i have done for itv in last 2 months , all shows with slightly different content than usual shut shop in the same time frame. The channel should either stop picking up such shows or give them a limited series contract.

Its not trp, its the audience. We are so used to watching OTT toxicity that something normal and progressive is just like..meh! We are okay when in an affair the woman is compulsorily made a vamp, women vs women over a guy, people literally torturing a 18 year old but give us a girl saying no to making dinner because she is selfishly choosing herself over others (Go Nikki ❤️!!), that is a big NO!

The show was was doing fine, it had its faults, but it was good.

Trp trp trp seriously guys I means starplus are airling there shows before it's telecast on tv and then how ???

Everyone anticipated what was happening(sp ignoring the show) but the tt fandom. I completely appreciate their dedication towards Shakhi and the way they are putting in every effort to save the show. They should’ve done a trend long time back for promotion on tv along with other trends which would’ve at least helped a bit with the trps.

One has to agree jitna bhi backwas channel ho woh apne show ko itna neglect nahin Karte jitna sp ne hamare Show ka kiya. Never In the history of tv I have seen this kind of behaviour.. like zero promotion when the leads are getting married and also sindoor shaadi which was a big attraction for trp aunties.

I feel sad more for the cast and crew than for us all as they have put in so much effort( agreed it’s their bread and butter but still) to bring up the trps but without any promo in tv it’s simply not possible.

Enough of my ranting… I will enjoy my Shakhi and saakk till it is there and will always hope some magic happens!!

Seriously I hope they are looking at hotstar ratings and considering overseas viewers also, Seems like they don’t . The only thing that matters to them is dated TRP technique. I mean cater to your TRP audience but don’t make them your sole audience. There is an other chunk who doesn’t want your regular drama. You will lose them forever. Now I will be so scared to watch any show on Starplus. I might just end up liking some show which they will stop abruptly again.

I think they are more interested in only trp aunties… I stopped watching sp long time back but saakk attracted me as it didn’t have ott saas bshu typical drama..

I told pehele and even now trust me trp is not at all a reason for show going off air bcz first it was a slot leader and they even gave promos all of a sudden how come they stopped airing the promos and stopped promoting it 😞🙄 where they are doing it to other show’s deffinetly there is something not good between PH and channel as I 💯 percent trust the news that Sitara was not happy with the way story was going and asked deeya for shagun and ss wedding and she didn’t agree but yaar common sense thing they would have even separated them after marriage thoda track leyatey usmey kya baat hai but I think 🤔 PH want their way of story hmmm thali do haat se bajti hai

After sindoor wala marraige I think they would have introduced college track instead of official wedding but till then I think channel had gave them ultimatum 😞😕😣

Bold… even I didn’t expect official wedding so soon but it was only to gain trps they did… but alas it didn’t because of no promos on tv..

Regarding marriage with Shagun…if ph had agreed then it would be no different to any other serial… I’m very happy that they didn’t show the same that other serials do..

Even I’m feeling very bad but happy at the same time that there are ppl in this world who want to encourage progressive content, I mean ph. Someone has to start somewhere… now because of sm ppl are aware of what happened to this serial but soon a few will be brave enough to follow and give some good finite content rather than run serials for years filled with regressive content.

I’m sincerely hoping this will pave way to some good content on itv.
