Kabir shouted, banging the table.

"She is of NO USE! All these years I spent trying to be the perfect boyfriend, went in vain!"

he screamed more, scaring Mishra, his right hand.

"Riddhima?"

Vansh called out to her, who was busy filling the glass with water for him.

"Hmm"

Came her reply

"I thought you'll still be upset today. So, I bought something for you.."

Riddhima, not really paying attention to his words, made him drink water. Sighing, Vansh took out something shining out of his pocket, that made a tinkling noise, and presented to her.

"Payal?"

She asked, in a questioning voice looking at the beautiful anklets in his palm. It was decorated with eye-catchy silver beads.

"Don't you like it?"

He said, scrunching his brows.

"No, Vansh, it's beautiful.."

Riddhima confessed.

"So, may I?"

Vansh asked for permission, looking down at her feet.

Unsure, she nodded her head.

Smiling inside, he bent down, and took Riddhima's foot on his knee, making her wear the ornament. Locking its hook, he did the same on her other feet.

What fluttered her heart was that, he was being so gentle, as if he was scared to even leave a scratch accidentally.

A smile broke down Vansh's face, as he looked at her feet that were now adorned with the anklets he wanted to see her in.

"Its simple, yet gorgeous."

Riddhima commented.

"Nope." he denied. "These were simple. But, after you wore them, these look gorgeous now."

Riddhima could feel a soft blush forming on her cheeks.

Suddenly his phone rang, breaking their moment.

"WHAT?!"

Ishani asked, horrified.

"Yup!"

Riddhima smiled.

"U sure, Riddz...? Cuz, even on Rakhshabandhan, Vansh bhai ate a ant-like bite of the kheer I made. He hates sweets that much! And you're saying he ate the entire bowl of that- um- meethi bhaat?"

Her expressions were similar as a surprised koala, who just got to know it can climb trees.

"If you can't believe, go and check the empty bowl in the sink"

Riddhima rolled her eyes.

Vansh hung the phone, after talking with his client.

"Bhai."

Ishani called, earning his attention.

"Yes?" he answered.

"You've changed." she said. "And how so?" He raised his brows.

"You suddenly became caring. Your habits are changing.

After someone's arrival." she finished

"So?" His tone was now VR.

"Remember Ragini?" Ishani asked, making him clench his fist.

"Ragini, is past, get that hammered in your mind."

He was leaving , but stopped at Ishani's next words-

"What if the past repeats?"

"She is not Ragini, Ishani." He gritted, and left.

Sitting on the terrace, Vansh looked at the moon, smiling. That anklet was special. It was given by his mother to him, when he was young.

"My strong boy, in life, not everyone will stay by your side except one. Give this to that person, who takes all your pain away."

Her words kept on ringing in his ears, so did the moments when Riddhima cared for his wounds.

"I finally found that person, Maa.."

Vansh said, as if his mother could hear him, looking above in the darkness, decorated in thousands of shining sequins..
