Why are there so many Deepika threads, all on similar lines? 🤔

Anyways, Deepika's Mastani for me since she threw herself at a married man until he took her.

I hate KANK but Rani and SRK's characters were equally responsible and had issues with their marriages so I hate Rani in her role a little less. Plus, Rani can actually act so that helps her case too.

Mastini's times were different. She was a Muslim, so for her getting married to an already married person, was acceptable, especially given the historical context.

We cannot question her in that aspect, it is Bajirao who is at fault.

While Maya was from a simply monogamous society, still she cheated in the worst possible manner. And was pathetically unapologetic about it

Where is the option for both? Hated both of them 🤬. I despise movies that show and justify infidelity!

I mostly felt bad for Abhishek in that movie, both Rani and Shahrukh's character were pieces of shit!!

Maya wasn't unapologetic about it. She felt guilty that's why she told Rishi the truth about her cheating.

It wasn't her fault that she wasn't happy in her marriage. It was Rishi's fault that he was bad in bed and couldn't satisfy his wife. But of course, women are expected to not have any sexual desires so on what grounds she would've taken a divorce.

She was raised by Rishi's father since childhood so it was not at all easy for her to betray them.

I loathed Rani so much. Mainly because the way she played her, she tried so hard to victimize the character and make it seem like the whole world was horrible except poor little Rani. The crocodile tears were flowing throughout the whole movie. Just because you know how to cry every five minutes doesn't automatically mean it's great acting either.

Deepika's character didn't give a shit which is what home-wreckers really are like. 😆

She still did it though, that too straight up booking a room with her lover, albeit apologetically. 😆

Fair point, but for me she was not apologetic because she never saw what she was doing wrong.

Exactly. Do whatever horrible things you want to do but just make sure to cry constantly about it and victimize yourself. Oh the evil world made did this to poor innocent me. 🤣I think Rani really got into the role and tried desperately to portray herself as the sad little victim since she was doing the same home-wrecking in real life where she was trying to oust Payal Chopra from her marriage. She still wanted to be loved in spite of it.

Agree that she was wrong. But, bold: She knew what she was doing, was wrong. She was deliberately cheating. And that's what makes her unapologetic.

If only she divorced first before acting on her feelings.

That would have been a better story too. And maybe they would have been a likeable pair. Like Awaamkijaan said, yeah not all partners are compatible.
