Just to lighten up the mood and also to put forward some of my thoughts :) Same things that we know already but in a different light.

Disclaimer: This is completely my understanding and I could be wrong. I am going to discuss SaiRat here not the filthy CN family. In my mind they are irredeemable and irrelevant when it comes to SaiRat's progression. If you just see the story as the story of these two people, then my rant below will make sense. In an alternate universe, I want Sai and Virat to live separately from this hell hole. period.

Thanks to KD, we have some reference that SaiRat will be end game. So if you keep that in mind, it is easier to analyze what they are going through. Again whenever I see these bitter situations they are facing and how they handle it, I always try to factor in their basic character traits and the circumstances that shaped their actions and reactions.

As far as i have understood the story (from KD as well) and the characters of Sai and Virat, one thing for sure is they have fallen for each other. The contention in their story is 'distrust' from both sides, owing to Virat's past, the way they got married and the constant interference of the ex. This is a unique situation for a couple to start with. There is an added burden for 9/10 years age gap which I believe they dont mind per se, but people around them might bring in. Lets now see how these two are approaching each other and their marriage.

Virat:

Virat's marriage with Sai is a clean slate for him, because he erased his past. From his view point, he sees only Sai and his marriage with Sai. He puts maximum effort to nurture it and complete it. He has single minded focus on it but he doesnt factor in Sai's confusion on his past, especially when he knows that she is aware of Pakhi's intentions. He thinks that whatever he is doing for their marriage should make the other factors less significant. Why he wants to do this way? somewhere he wants to 'save' pakhi for samrat. This is going to be the biggest pull back from his side that takes him away from Sai. He thinks he is getting closer to her but from Sai's view point he is getting pulled away so she cant see him. And Him waiting for Sai to open up and understand him will not work when Sai cannot see HIM clearly at all.

Again, Virat's marriage for him is a clean slate, atleast thats how he is seeing it. But he doesnt realize that when he cleaned his slate he forgot that his past is etched in Sai's mind. To clear that he will have to "TELL" her what she means to him the same way he told her about his commitment. Until then he doesnt see his affections being returned and assumes the worst that she doesnt love him. He cant stop himself from expecting love from Sai and this causes his outbursts. It is natural. I am not defending his outbursts but just saying the outburts are real, they happen.

He knows he got lucky with a rare diamond, he cherishes it and is extremely possessive of it but doesnt wear it thinking that he doesnt deserve it. Sometimes he holds it too tight fearing that he might lose it, hence falls for his raw emotions. It keeps repeating till he accepts that this diamond shines only on his finger.

Sai

Falling in love is not in the control of one's mind most of the times. Sai fell in love with Virat irrespective of his past and commitment. This is her first love and the strongest emotion for a man other than her father. In her naiveté, she compares Virat and her Aaba unconsciously. She already gave him that position in her life and feels insecure 'all' the time that she would not get him. If they are away from Pakhi's presence, it would have been clearer to her that Virat loves her, past doesnt matter etc.. etc. But constant scrutiny on her life with Virat by the woman who doesnt leave a chance to remind her that she was his ex-flame makes her restless. She is already impulsive by nature and have high standards of right and wrong that she sometimes is pushed to think that she is the 'third' person when is not. If only she could understand that her marriage takes precedence over any of his relationships, past or present she would not have this confusion. For her young mind, love is everything marriage is just a formality. So with that mindset, how frustrating it would be for her?! I dont have an apt analogy to describe what she is going through. You can think of it as a frustrated child unable to formulate her thoughts about what she wants and expects the parent to give it to her still. If it was Pakhi, she will stoop to any low to get Virat's attention. But Sai has this high moral compass and self respect that doesnt allow her to ask Virat about his feelings for her directly, or initiate anything as a wife with him. In this whole confusion she doesnt (want to) see what Virat is giving her. Now we can connect the dots with Virat's situation above.

Therefore for Sai, the only way she can deal with this all, is to 'pretend' that Virat is nothing to her. In that way she hopes to disconnect from him and thinks it will make things easier for her.

Just the way she forgives his mistakes again and again only speaks of her 'blind' love for this man and inherent 'trust' that there is something stronger that is holding them together. At the same time, this forgiveness of her will expect more from Virat to take their relationship forward or stand against Pakhi. Her outbursts on him will only increase multifold because she is emotionally already so close to him and with that comfort level, she will freely say anything to him to the point of hurting him so badly that he will have questions for her affections towards him (again!). There is one particular episode after a MU where she yells at him that she wants 'mukti' from Mr. Virat Chavan and this relationship.. What she means actually is the 'mukti' from her confusion.

Sai's insecurity comes from her age, she will suspect Virat's loyalty again and again. This is because, from her perspective the marriage never started with clean slate. She married a man who 'liked' someone other than her. It is a deep rooted insecurity that will only go away by staying with him and understanding him better each day. Till then MUs will happen.

Sai is not a saint nor her circumstances are simple. She is an untrained child thrown into the pool suddenly after her father's death. She has a wonderful coach as her husband but she will take time to trust him and come afloat.

If we attach 'perfection' to these characters then everything looks ugly. But we see them as confused people trying to stay together fighting the unknown battles of heart, then you can understand their actions. They are not 'trained' to react to any of these situations nor they have a 'formula' to save their marriage. Hence they falter and learn till they learn to balance themselves.

Brilliantly written.......👏

You have understood the characters Sai and Virat and beautifully expressed.....

Their need to overcome their insecurities and this can be done as the time passes.....

They both are confused and don't believe that other person is interested in them because of both parties behaviour in some crucial situations like or example, for Sai, during recent confrontation him not responding to nurse comment and for Virat, Sai bringing his past infront of all etc.,....and this created misconceptions......

Both don't have courage to speak out things openly fearing other person's reaction....

Their journey of overcoming their insecurities will be interesting.....

You have written this really beautifully. I agree that both of them are flawed characters, and they each have their own insecurities in the relationship to overcome.

However, what bothers me the most about Virat's character in particular is that it is inconsistent. One moment he is crying, begging for Sai's forgiveness and defending her against the vultures. In the next moment he is throwing her out of the house or standing in the corner with tape on his mouth, listening to pp verbally abuse a 19 year old girl, who happens to be his wife and the person he is in love with. I think there are other ways for the makers to handle his character development and show his jealously/possessiveness without having him a) resort to domestic abuse and b) quite literally change personalities every other episode.

There are bound to be misunderstandings in any relationship, and of course, those misunderstandings will be made extra dramatic in ITV. But, the creatives should not have to sacrifice character and relationship development for that. At this point, in my mind, Virat has repented for distrusting Sai and mistreating her so deeply not once, but twice. And since then, he has grown more secure in the relationship, or at least should have, because of not only what aai and Sunny explained to him, but also of Sai's recent displays of concern and affection towards him. Another explosive harassing episode on his part towards Sai will make no sense what so ever. And that is not called love.

True problem is not in Sairat..or Virat per se..problem is Virat turning into Rono one day and Virat the nest day..the inconsistency in a ML's character to such an extent..Sairat would still be adorable if you see the scene as a separate entity..

Exactly. They are trying to force 2 Virat's into 1. One of them is the mindless copy pasted Rono, and the other one is the Virat we see in moments of him so lovingly staring at Sai as she takes the selfies. Blending these two characters into one is destroying such enormous potential in Sairat's relationship development.

I blame it on CVs here, Virat is made too soft for these outbursts. I agree.

Also at these times, I feel Virat tests Sais affections for him by being silent or being harsh on her. He wants her to fight for him and claim him. He definitely becomes 'greyish' to the point of hurting her just to see her reactions for him. Is he correct? NO. But thats what people do. Given a chance, dont you want to push your lover a little 'more' to know that you are indeed important to them, thats the human tragedy unfortunately.

In my limited life experience, I have only seen Virats. :) and the rest of them are Saints preaching about how to deal with these Virats :P
