What is wierd is that Virat never questions character of Pakhi who wants to cheat his own brother since the day she moved into Chavan Nivas.

She has time and again shown and told him this. Still he respects her and there is no outrage for her doing this to his own brother.

He never questions or has second thoughts about Pakhi's character.

However when it comes to Sai, despite being his own wife, who has shown time and again she cares for him, he will have no problem projecting Pakhi's vile thoughts on Sai?

Makers are fully intending on showing him brainless and spineless. Doesn't look like anything we do will impact writers or make them bring any creativity.

the problem here is they are copy & pasting that compromises and destroys characters. Its a remake doesn't mean you have to copy & paste every single detail otherwise why not everyone watch the tamil & bengali version

i totally agree with all your points here👍🏼you have pointed out so beautifully regards to the arcs of virat & sai character

i am not keen with suicide track too

after such a beautiful progress b/w sairat its brutal to destroy their characters at this point the suicide track doesn't fit in at all especially virat falling into didi's manipulation and accuse sai as characterless, thats the last blow of destruction and after this noone will be able to ship sairat the same as we do or even admire virat as a individual character

All characters are destroyed

I’m just waiting for Bhav to make a separate bedroom for Virat and Paakhi so bhabhi devar can spend quality time together

Drama part TRP and copy pasting gets them TRP

@bold Agree with this 100%. It is indeed a part of his character.

As a character, Virat is complex. There are several layers to him. He is a morally decent guy. Having grown up with unconditional love, he craves for meaningful love and acceptance . But he is also highly insecure, jealous and immature when it comes to relationships. He is supposed to be a complex grey character.

But the things they made him do in his moments of madness are so horrendous. Writers should have toned down/modified his reactions considerably. Made lot of people become put off by the character.

Bold- I don’t think he is morally decent. He says he is. But which morally decent guy throws his wife out at night, deny her food, calls her pagal?

I don’t agree about conditional love- Aai loved him unconditionally and the whole family did love him too. He is the raja beta. If they have ever disliked him that’s only because of marrying Sai.

complex grey- exactly. He’s made to be something else and justified because he is the male lead. But in essence he is a complex character

Things in madness- I consider that to the real Virat. His words and actions cannot be so different otherwise

When I say morally decent - I mean it in the broadest sense. He does not take pleasure in torturing others, does not take advantage of other people, is shown to genuinely be concerned about his family. Is he patriarchal- yes, very. His abusive action was certainly immoral.

I disagree about the Chavans. The Chavans are not capable of love - they don't care about anybody and their 'love' is all about control. Have first hand seen too many families like Chavans (minus the criminal element) - they seem very normal and caring from outside but there is not even an ounce of concern in their heart...all they want is control - children from such families are pretty messed up. Ashwini does love him unconditionally but she was fighting a difficult battle herself and therefore may not have been able to protect Virat from the the toxicity. Can be argued either ways since we do not have sufficient information.

He is complex grey even without the abusive traits. He is patriarchal, self-absorbed due to his insecurities and often has double standards.

Sometimes I feel Virat is Rono. No difference really. Virat's mannerisms were softened to gain acceptance from the audience - which only added to the confusion. In that sense Rono seems a more honestly written character - atlleast it is written exactly the way he is supposed to be.

If they truly wanted to change the characterization and make him more relatable, they should have done away with the abusive traits.

This again is strictly my interpretation of what the writers were aiming for with his characterization. But his character is often so sketchy that it leaves him open for interpretation. Depending on their view, some people find him to be a closet narcissist or a selfish and shallow person etc. and these views can also be argued logically.

Well according to KD he questions her in their room but still it's wrong to character abused your love without having q solid proof

Exactly. And the Virat that we have seen in the past few episodes would not do such a thing.

I agree with you completely. I don't think there will be any coming back from Virat falling into didi's manipulation and pushing Sai to take such a drastic step.... why are the creatives putting such lovely touches in their relationship and developing it just to destroy it all again? We can only hope that they decide to take a different path...

yes they had to bring out original spin off as the Tamil one did becoz the Bengali version rono and emon were complete contrast to sai and virat. Rono was what i can see is a rude and heartless person and emon was just a rude girls with high pitched voice always ready to fight. Virat on other hand is kind guy filled with emotions but sometimes they ruin him by adding unnecessary rono characteristics by blind copy past. And here sai is different than emon becoz she is muffat but not badtameez like emon that's why she is best character for me from the show. And here Virat is head over heels in love with sai unlike rono. Therefore more than suicide character assassination by virat will ruin it. And they need to show original track further becoz their are lots of unnecessary misunderstanding between rono and emon after confession as well. Like Shruti track and after badshah death. They never looked like happy couple. Which is not with sairat as their Chemistry is just pure and probably the best at present in itv. Do if ghum needs to be trp gainer always then drama can't be sole reason it had to be sairat together always although they can have small fights but not major seperation. Therefor they have to bring originality to their show like other remakes Anupama and imli had done
