I've been there. Hold your ground. Never enter into anything which your heart does not permit you to. Financial independence is important, because then you can actually stand your ground without getting boggled down by the pressure. I also don't like the idea of arranged marriage anymore because it's all very superficial, mostly looking at everything other than love. Aunties come up with the stupidest lists of what the guy has but they miss out an important part of marriage, which is love. They say, love is only in movies but I greatly disagree. Just because those aunties did not get love in their marriages does not mean you should not desire it. Compromise is a large part of marriage which is okay, but we cannot possibly compromise with the fact that the marriage is going to be loveless. At least I cannot. Aunties want us to compromise on love. Nope...

Truth is he never changed but played a long game with keerthi keeping in mind that her bro is a millionaire!! He knew Raghav is protective about his sister and can do anything for her!! He is a shrwed person and Pallavi easily saw through it!!

Yes, he also spoke about 10 cr ki lottery. I mean when Raghav is worth so many crores why only 5 crores. When he came to return the cheque, Sunny told him that till date he hasn't obeyed his father. It's possible that Sunny is from a well to do family but vices overtake virtues.

I think in the end all these grey shaded characters will finally end with Ved. It's Raghvi vs the rest.

However your post is the need of the hour. It holds good for one and all.

This my father always tells me what about love it will slowly happen after marriage !! What important is the boy earning enough to take your responsibility, Will he financially be able to keep you happy and fulfill your desires. I was WTH? Why should my husband take care of my desires or take my responsibility financially!! Am i not good enough to take care of my own!! What every girl should desire in marriage is love and respect from her partner not money!!

I applaud CVs for juxtaposing people with similar traits and good looks as positive, negative or grey.

It should be fun on picking out reasons on why few things were forgivable with Raghav and why that ain’t the case with Sunny!🥸

Perhaps knowing backstory helps?🧐

Or it is simply the overflowing love for Anna…? 😍

Nope. Raghav has a lot of bad traits but he cares for people close to him. While the way he forced Pallavi to marry him was a big no for me 🤢Whatever he did was khullam khulla and to give it back to whoever striked him(exactly what Pallu said to VD). This is why even when everyone was against RR,she stood by him. This man has a moral integrity and ground.

While Sunny has been manipulative since Day1. Even though I wanted to give him a chance, his character arc doesn't seem to be getting any better.

I don't blame him for thinking this way. It's always been the case that men provide for their wives financially and the older generation has not yet come to terms with the fact that women can provide for themselves as well as their family. That concept is still a bit strange for them. For them, a man who earns will be the best husband and I don't understand because I personally don't need a man to buy me anything or provide. I can provide for an entire family. So that whole pre-requisite flies out of the window for women who are financially independent. What happens next is difficult. The chances of finding a partner gets narrower by the day because everything that society dictated of a man becomes irrelevant and all you seek is a partner you can share your life with. It's not easy but it's worth the try rather than settling for a loveless life. That is the worst thing that can happen to anyone because even the children that come out of a loveless marriage lack love. The cycle continues and our society becomes a place where we don't love, we just survive.

This!! Morals is what makes a man who he is Raghav has done so much bad things to Pallavi but once he understood his wrong doings he bravely accepted his mistake and he even risked his own self respect to right the wrong!! This is what made Pallavi completely fall for Raghav!!

Whereas Khajur sunshine( Sunny) is a creepy and manipulative from the start who has not a single bone of morality in his body!! A guy who manipulates a girl to elope with him for live in is not qualifief for any kind of commited relation.

When I was 24 years old!! An arranged rishta came for me the boy is an accountant working in a MNC for last 5 years in Australia. My parents specifically tried to convince me that this is the best proposal for me as the boy lives in Australia. I was like WTH? just because he is in Australia I have to like him but anyways he came to see me and then we had gone for two arranged dates and it is one of these dates that I understood how much of a hypocrite he is. From trying to converse in fake accented english to badmouth not only kolkata but india itself to making points about how undesirable and boring indian girls are. I tried to bare it for a while but after he disrespected the whole cultural upbringing and dressing sense of indian girls in sarees I was fed up and politely rejected him in his face stating he is not my type and he was surprised that how come he be not someone's choice. It is after returning home I heard that his parents called mine and demanded why their son is rejected that too by a girl who works in a call center and they did a favour by even considering me for their precious son!! Though my father also fired back apt replies but in his eyes I saw that day the disappointment for me and by god I was hurt!! That is the second time in life I cried so much the first one was after my dadi's death!! From that day my perspective changed and here I am today making a thread about what makes an ideal man!! 😂😂

I'm so sorry that you had to go through such a horrible experience but I'm also glad you rejected that proposal. A guy who puts you down even before you're married is a RED FLAG. He was probably also having an inferiority complex. Men who feel inferior tend to display such qualities of putting other people down. A confident man does not need to play such tricks.

It's just sad that society still perceives women as a liability that they have the nerve to tell us that they're doing us a favor by marrying us. We need to change that and it's only and only by being fiercely independent, especially financially. When money comes into play, all relationships and equations change. Money has power, sad but true. It's up to us how we use that power, but it definitely has a great amount of power, such that no man or woman can walk over us as if we're broken dolls. You'll be surprised how peoples mind set also changes the moment you're walking with your head held high. They will eventually respect you as a person rather than as a woman.

I hope you find the perfect person for yourself, but take it easy! There's a lot more in life than marriage. Cliched as it sounds, its true. We only have one life, live it before we exit from this world. We're all exiting one day, so rather exit after living a fulfilling life than exiting with regrets of never getting to live a happy life. I also believe that there is no other hero in your life other than yourself. If you really want to do something, you have to step up for yourself first. Then your parents will support you but if you expect that someone else will take that initiative for us, then it will never happen. Once you take that one step, the next 100 steps are easier.

I'm glad you did what you did! More power to you!
