What i found really pleasantly surprising in today's episode is how natural essa and Rida scenes were

The dialogues between them are perfectly written by sameera fazal and the actors have taken those simple yet weighty dialogues to another level through their acting

For a change it really liked the fact that Rida and Essa got married as both r intelligent yet good human beings ...seemed like a perfect match

Actually going forward, lagta hi ke aise hi hone wala hai!😂

The Essa and Rida scenes were done very well...

Essa, true to his integrity of character....settling into his new role...

Loved the tonality of FRIENDSHIP written all over both their scenes...Essa is obviously giving the marriage his best shot!👍

This guy’s strength of character is quite something else!👌

Loved how he told Rida exactly what it was...that look on Essa’s face when he read Navera’s message...Usama just nailed that moment!👏

Rida was obviously happy that she had this gem of a person for her life partner, but that hint of an expression at the end of the scene.....on Rida’s face...was beautifully done....subject to interpretation, really!👍

This may go either way...but, something tells me that Usama will give this marriage his all...Rida’s insecurities (obviously due to her ill health) will get the better of her...the Rida-Navera dynamic, sadly, is likely to change!

This instinct was amplified that much more....thanks, to the presence, of the neighbour lady...who happened to overhear the Essa and Navera conversation...that was for a purpose, IMO...

That same scene had a GLORIOUS moment...while on the one hand, Navera will always remain Essa’s priority...the guy knows exactly where to draw the line...

Navera, sadly, hasn’t realised how at a subconscious level, she depends on Essa so much (actually trusts him more than anything else)...that she has started taking Essa for granted...

Essa, being Essa, would never take to that kindly...not because he would not want to...but since, given the changed dynamic...it would not be the right thing to do...

It was a very brief moment....but, Essa’s “this ain’t right, Ma’am; I ain’t not liking it” said it all!

I have said this several times earlier as well...Essa is an extremely well thought through character written with such subtle nuances...and Usama is doing an EXEMPLARY job of bringing every facet of Essa, beautifully to life!

👏👏👏

And finally, the HIGHLIGHT moment of the episode...

The closing shot of the sequence between Navera and her mother...when the ever so senseless Zahida reprimands her daughter for not having learnt a trick or two from her more “capable” sisters...

Navera’s expression...as she camouflages her pain...in that smile...a smile that clearly is not able to reach her eyes...and yet, as she gets a grip on her emotions...as if, it’s just another day...

The NUANCES that Komal is bringing to Navera are absolutely STUNNING!

👏👏👏

As I conclude, as neither of us know how the future is going to unravel...one thing‘s for sure...

I am so happy, to be honest DIL SE happy that Usama and Komal have got this wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent through the embodiment of Essa and Navera, and their journey, through Mohlat.

Nothing pleases me more than, when genuine talent gets the recognition that they deserve...and these two have clearly given their respective characters, their absolute best!

Today, was a beautiful testament to that...they shone through even in the absence of the classical EssaVera dynamic!

Usama Khan and Komal Aziz Khan, more power to you, guys!❤️

Cheers!

DocD

P.S.: In the same vein, have a question for Sami Khan...for an actor so darn good, what on earth got him to agree to play Davar the Duffer? Beats me completely!!

compeltely agree with the bolded. I got the same vibe that there’s a very platonic bond here (sorry EssaRida fans—they just don’t have the same chemistry as EssaVera!!), and Rida bringing up her tumor often to Essa also seems like a bad type of foreshadowing, exactly as you said, like this insecurity will fuel her negatively. My hope is that there will never be a rift between Navera and Rida, but this is a Pakistani drama so this may be par for the course. I can imagine Maham goading Rida with the knowledge that Essa originally wanted to marry Navera but had to be convinced to marry Rida. Like I said earlier, Rida is too strong of a woman to let that info alone deter her, but that knowledge, along with the insecurities about her tumor, augmented by whatever rumors will be spread about Essa and Navera vis a vis the neighbor lady, may cause a rift in EssaRida. Who knows. I hope the drama doesn’t take this predictable route but not keeping my expectations high especially since I 100% believe Rida is going to die.

Yes, you’re right...some fantastic points that you make, really!

I actually completely forgot about Maham....since I FF everything to do with her, and her unidimensional negativity!😂

Also, forgot to mention this in my post...got the feeling yesterday, but the same was cemented today...

At some level, Rida knows that Essa has compromised in this marriage...there was no reason that Navera would bring it up to her parents otherwise...

But Rida’s pragmatism at some level (due to her current circumstances as well), got the better of her, and hence, her agreeing to the marriage....

What was intriguing to me today, was that she made a very strong statement “Agar main theek hoti, toh shayad aap mujse shaadi na karte?”

That’s in sharp contrast, right??

Does that mean that she at some level has figured out the truth...how else would Navera (of all people...as Rida would decipher it)...figure out that Essa doesn’t necessarily love Rida?

Weave this in to the symbolism of the ring moment and Rida’s comment on the “amaanat” bit...things may just end up differently!

But then on second thoughts, could be wishful thinking or my own creative juices going into overdrive!😁

You should definitely watch ishq jalebi it’s quite enjoyable actually. Although there is some Punjabi in it too. Idk if u know punjabi or not but it won’t hurt ur enjoyment of the show. Madiha is so adorable there. She is soo masoom in an enjoyable to watch way. Wahaj is well wahaj. So as phenomenal as ever. Osama looks good there too. A trend will continue in there for him hint hint. 😉

He has another drama going on rn called noor. Although it’s not anything special it is watchable. Is on APlus. It on YouTube. It comes twice a week, so I watch both episodes together. His chemistry with anmol baloch is very good. N he will get the girl there 🤣 I mostly watch for their scenes n ff through the rest if it isn’t anything interesting. It actually funny the amount of stuff these 2 suffer because of each other. So I like to call them cursed lovers.😆

@bold 😆

Hey Gobi!

Will definitely catch Ishq Jalebi, soon...abhi toh it has three of my absolute favourite actors!👍

And I can already guess the trend that you’re referring to!😂

Thanks so much for your recommendation on the other drama as well...the sad part is I have so much of back log!😂

And Mohlat has taken everything for a toss!

I catch up on my viewing only raat ko, and now all that time has been taken up by Mohlat!!

I really want to make time for other dramas too, sabse pehle toh IJ and Raqeeb Se...

Talk to you soon, Dear!😊

I understand tht. I also suffer from time shortages 😆. Work keeps me busy. Then life takes the rest. I do still squeeze in some time for these dramas. Probably because I ff through most of em.😆 Also I work from home rn so tht saves a lot of travel time.

I don’t think Rida is the typical heroine who will cry or hurt herself upon learning this type of truth, nor do I think she’s so petty as to leave Essa upon learning this, but it could be a catalyst for a big development in the drama.

I have a feeling it will be Maham who will reveal it to Rida out of jealousy. It would be a shame if they pit Rida against Nawera in the show.

I loved what Zahida said about Tahir (ranting infront of Nawera). Tahir is a horrible father. He neglected Zahida and the girls as if they didn't exist and only returned because his son turned out the way he did. Suddenly he remembered he had daughters and another wife. He swings to wherever the grass is greener. 🤔

It’s nice to see Zahida getting some affirmation after what she went through, but I can never be totally behind Zahida because she was such a vile mother to Navera. Because Rida is leaving the country, Zahida thinks it’s ok to keep Navera with her forever to the point of having a damad that stays at home (so what, is Navera expected to work and provide for Zahida now?). Ugh.

Of course it doesn't absolve her of being a terrible mother. I liked the points she raised about Tahir.
