I know I have expected too much from Shaan. in fact the only statement i have liked from shaan since the whole goa track was when he said - aaj mujhe ata chala itne saal tumne apne bete se dur rehkar kya mehsoos kiya hoga. his character would have salvaged a bit if somehow he had tried to keep in touch with the mother of his child rather than pining for his wife.
to me, Devi probably never loved shaurya as her son, she merely took care of him. maybe she loved him only when he started finding his mom in her but her 'love' was not because she considered him as her child. maybe she liked him because he was the only person who could make her a mother. she liked the feeling of being a mother but she was not being a mother because she loved a child. so that love never truly touched him.
Same! I know I can be more greedy and go ahead finding flaws but to be very honest nothing usual gets you teary eyed at 6 AM in the morning. Be it the hospital episode or him going to Shaan's flat to apologise to his mother when even the mistake on his part was done unintentionally. It was only his pain that came out in the form of words that cut sharper than knife. But when I try to look deeper, it was his own cuts that bled.
And then what I got was more than I expected, how could I possibly ruin that good of it while trying to find the flaws. Every thing was perfect. ❤️
About Shaan, I think I have devoted enough time to justify his attachment to his own pain and grief. I have given him enough advantage of being a human but not anymore, from the goa track all I can remember is him standing there and not accompanying his own child as he stumbled in his steps. All I can remember is him not calling Shaurya even when Aastha told him to do so. So maybe at the end he will find his way but the father in him and human in him will continue troubling him till death. It is not possible it won't because the regrets would be so high.
Because you see to give up fighting is one thing but to acknowledge that there is a battle to fight is another.
And for me I think Devi loved Shaurya. Just that she loved the idea of her loving him a lot more. So much that it became a burden, a burden for him and a game of importance for her that she refused to acknowledge as still continues doing so.
What's makes the situation worst is her claiming that all she wants is the good for Shaurya because at same time I know she can't be stupid to not realise where his happiness actually lies.
So for her the idea of fighting for his happiness is a hoax she continues to believe is a reality but her reality is nothing but an illusion.
And what's exactly real can't be an illusion.
Or it can be?! Because people often refuse to see the truth that shine and tend to believe the lie that satisfy.
Even I felt on Saturday that the maa-beta scene came too suddenly and easily. But after some thought and reading the thoughts of y'all, I realised that they have shown enough scenes of the both warming up to each other. I expected some fumbling from Shaurya, but like some pointed out here, he doesn't fumble when he is doing something following his heart. I expected the past would overshadow his determination to start afresh and it did. I am glad it was not him who started to talk about the past. It had to come from Aastha as she was the one who had wronged him. He had extended his hand, she had to take a step now. I wouldn't have liked if the scene would have ended only on casual talks. So I am glad the emotional talks happened today.
Now coming to the "Maa" part. Whenever Aastha met him, she would hint at the same thing that she didn't leave him, he was snatched away by others. And we have seen him wondering about this for some days after everytime he met her. The guy had started processing it already. What was stopping him was BM's manipulation and his blind trust in her. The blindfold is off his eyes now after seeing how she is treating his love matters. He is also trying to meet Aastha without any prejudice as per Anokhi's advice. So this time as well, he initially refused to believe her, but he let her prove herself. Why? Because his subconscious mind has been thinking about this since quite some time now n he knew she is right.
We have seen how much this guy craves for his maa. BM is his karz wali maa, but the mother who would selflessly love him was still missing in his life. He didn't have any other issue with his mother except that she left him and never bothered to check on him again. Today his belief was proven wrong. He saw his mother didn't abandon him. She did love him and always wanted to be a part of his life. What else would a kid with abandonment issues want? He called her maa the moment he was assured that she didn't abandon him totally. We have seen with Anokhi how quick he is in expressing his love and his haq on people he considers his own. All he needs in life is acknowledgement of his love. Aastha gave him this acknowledgement today that she has been loving him all her life as much as he loved her as his mother. Once acknowledged, he didn't hesitate to her maa and mark his right on her as her son. As quickly he called Anokhi as Mrs Anokhi Shaurya Sabherwal once his love was acknowledged by her, the same way he called Aastha as maa. Yes, he has other issues too like he didn't have her when he needed her, but he already saw her sincerely apologise for the same. And they will surely discuss this again as well, this is not the end of Aastha's story, this is just a beginning.
Accepting Aastha wasn't a big deal here, knowing her backstory is. Because that will shake his trust in his BM. He is someone...you shower your unconditional love on him and he will love you back, he still has that innocent child in him alive. But break his trust and he'll make sure you know you have messed up with the wrong person. In this process, he will question Aastha many times as gradually he will trust Aastha more than BM and that's when her story will unfold. Today he has only called her maa, there's still some time for him to accept her as maa, understand her as maa, feel for his maa, stand up for his maa and lastly, keep her over and above badi maa! He is doubting BM now, but he still loves her and wants to trust her. As yet, he must be putting both the mothers at equal levels, he would love Aastha as much as he loves BM. But Aastha maa would get justice when he accepts her over and above Badi Maa. That would be Aastha's story and it definitely won't end here.
One more point I would like to make here. Though he says he doesn't care about anyone's acceptance, in his heart, he is left alone by his entire family. No one is accepting his love. No one is trying to understand him. Till now, he always had his badi maa to talk to, who would apparently understand him and support him in everything, but now she is not there too. Whereas, Aastha was understanding his love for Anokhi. The forever abandoned child in him needed a solace, and he got it only in his mother. Had it been some other times, he wouldn't have believed Aastha, he could have said dad must have sent you these pics, you never came to see me, you are not my mother, only BM is my mother. But now BM is not on his side and his confidence in her support is shaken. In such time, if there's another woman who says in your happiness lies my happiness, he is bound to get attracted towards her. Only Aastha's efforts wouldn't have been fruitful if not for the right timing! Drifting away from badi maa and aastha proving her love for him together made him call her maa instantly.
I can't wait to see Anokhi and Shaan's reaction on this happening!! (I know you all have cancelled Shaan and I am not much impressed with him too, but he too deserves this happiness, he has spent his life wanting Shaurya to call her maa!)
