I agree he might have slapped her for that bhai behen natak thing but until she badmouthed the marriage he was listening patiently. That was the trigger point actually. He lost it at that moment. Until he was quiet.
Actually, I feel he slapped her because she said the bhai behen relation was a naatak. It wasn't about Pallavi, although that statement about their marriage did anger her. He adores his sister, would do anything for her, has been secretly watching over her and supporting her over the years as she grew into a young woman. He doesn't ask for anything, not even love or sympathy. Just a little bit of respect is what he wants, a bit of recognition or acceptance that he is her elder brother and rightfully has that place in her life, but she won't give him that. It must hurt like hell.
