We, the members of the Pride Army as a team, are committed to working on this subject, have worked on this more than a month with an adherence.⭐️

India Forums is a committed community, which is working tirelessly since it's inception to improve friendly bonding between different cultures and human traits in this world. Yes, now IF is a world-famous stage for global people to interact with each other in a friendly atmosphere.

🙏 We, the members of the Pride Army, are thankful to the founder of the IF, Vijay, for giving us the opportunity to connect with all the communities of the human society.

Appy's endeavor and BilliCat's encouragement which is the result of this mission.⭐️⭐️

Leena, whenever I see this thread, I feel like it is a rainbow colors' creative expression of an emotional surge, a silent shout out for an extending human relationship, the infinite horizon of an expansive sky.

Amazing work dear, the sparkling tags in demonstrative hues. 🤗❤️🤗

Kriti, the floating heart siggies you presented to us, which builds exuberant, friendly and enthusiastic connectivity to the LGBTQ+ community instantly. A thoughtful contribution from you. 🤗❤️🤗

Thankful to Lizzie Bennett[ Priya], for her friendly association and valuable contributions to make this thread a well expressed essay on the specific subject. 🤗❤️🤗

+ most of the schools do not provide a good knowledge about the LGBTQ+ community. Each and every child should be taught that even the LGBTQ people deserve respect and are no different than them. According to me, we learnt the moral values which teachers and parents taught to us. We learnt them and we started nurturing those good values within us. If the schools and our parents taught us from the start that being a gay or a lesbian or a transgender isn't shameful, our society would have been changed long ago. It is all about that we were either never told about the community or when said the community seemed to be a matter of 'shame' for us.

The youth of the present era have become so disrespectful to such communities. It is needed for them to go into the depth of the matter and then react to it. But since they were asked to cook up such disrespectful stories since childhood, nothing is helping to make them understand the fact🤷🏻‍♀️.

If you're talking about youth in India then there's a particular category of people who have been raised to believe such truth of gays being unnatural, etc. It is more adults, aged people who have strong beliefs and would not unlearn.

I've come across most youngsters who are so much more accepting and supportive! Millenials, Gen Z, most of them are ready to learn and accept. But yes India still needs more acceptance and unlearning colonial attitude because historically, we have been more inclusive.

In the last fifteen years, the LGBTQ+ community has found new levels of acceptance and support in the Western countries. Here in India it was legally accepted recently. For example there are week-long LGBTQ pride events every year in support and celebration of the sexual orientation and gender identity, diversity within the community since Sep 6th 2018 .

However, as an LGBTQ+ individuals, they've probably, unfortunately, experienced their fair share of difficulty and abuse. It takes many forms, from the subtle to the outright homophobic. Inaccurate assumptions, name-calling, dirty looks, and lectures from perfect strangers can be profoundly troubling and are a stark reminder of the stressors of being a member of the LGBTQ community.

But , now people started understanding the emotional needs of the community. We, the Pride Army believe in talking frankly, compassionately, and non-judgmentally about some of the community’s challenges that make them a vibrant, diverse group.

With an emotional connectivity, knowing the quantity of pain they bear till now, with compassion and dedication, we are trying to show our solidarity towards the LGBTQ+ friends.

I've realized many valid points through all these interactions with our members. Life and love are interrelated, correlated to each for a peaceful and happy existence.

I am very happy sharing my views with you @beinguraloo. 🤗

True! In India people still use terms like Gay n Hijra as an abuse and will constantly mock you. Even online, ppl celebrate Carryminati n his homophobic comments in the name of comedy. The community is rarely represented onscreen and it's so terrible when done (mostly).

Supreme Court is still stalling the judgement on same-sex marriages by saying people don't die if they don't have marriage certificate but they don't realise it is a great issue, especially in times of Covid, people cannot get insurance, life support and housing because they don't have marriage certificate and are unable to support their partners without being threatened by the society.

I can't believe that WE the country of Kamasutra had become so regressive since the last few decades.

Kamasutra affirms and recognizes same-sex relations, and there are several Hindu temples which have carvings that depict both men and women engaging in homosexual acts. There are also some Hindu deities that are shown to be falling on the LGBT spectrum.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Of course, I'd love to share my experiences, will see if there are any unanswered questions in the thread. Also, I've worked for 5+ years in the LGBT community in London so Gay/Trans issues are something I'm quite well versed in.

If there are any questions directly, I'd be open to answering them too.

@Neha, as you rightly mentioned, youth are more understanding because of the more exposure they are getting on certain issues now, from their friends and social media, their approach towards this issue is applaudable. They are from the progressive society, who has a good knowledge of human relationships and their different priorities in the changed circumstances, irrespective of the society's mindful glares.

For various reasons, arrogant behavior towards them, leads to mental health-related consequences, which are higher among the LGBTQ youth. Healing and thriving as LGBTQ persons means being aware of some of these challenges and finding ways for understanding the core problem.

Communication is an important tool to solve many problems. We are here to extend our respect, association, love and advice wherever it is needed.

India Forums is a place where everyone should be treated with respect and dignity.

Throw your dreams into space like a kite, spread your thoughts on the earth like a smile, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new Award, all will be yours!

Our tool against oppression is not money or guns. The greatest fortress of the oppressed is our mind. Let us unite to march forward with love. History is our weapon. Human desire has the power to rewrite the story with a new set of rules and customs in the ongoing History. Our awareness gives us consciousness, gives us bravery, dissipates lies and adds strength to the silent efforts of our resolutions.
