Well...
Today's episode was a hit for some reasons and a miss for a great many reasons for me, and definitely, Virat is NOT one of them. Okay. Hear me out. I'm not trying to say that anyone is wrong and I'm not trying to offend anyone.
But the one thing that many people were offended with today was the ViraKhi hand holding during the SaiRat hug. Yes, the ViraKhi hand-holding was unnecessary, and maybe the CVs way of making up to the real couple for the lack of romantic scene, but if you actually look at it that way, is it out of character for Virat to stop Pakhi and thank her? My answer is no.
Let's talk about the Virat that we were introduced to, and witnessed throughout the series. He is shown to be a people pleaser, the one who can't see anyone unhappy at any cost. So, the hand-holding scene where he stopped Pakhi from leaving and thanked her, was very much in tune with his character. For Virat, out of character would have been letting Pakhi go and sulk on her own, despite her "helping" him at his bidding.
And yeah, the fact that it happened during SaiRat's hug. Yeah, that kinda put me off in the beginning too, but I re-watched that moment again to see if I missed something, and I did. After the hug between Devi Tai and Harinee, Virat's first thought was Sai, his first instinct was the share the moment with her. And he did. The hug did last for a brief moment. He had his eyes closed for the first few seconds and he savoured the hug. As he snapped out of the moment and saw Pakhi, it seemed like he wanted to thank her right there, verbally, and the hand-holding only happened because she wanted to leave.
He stopped her to say Thank you because that's the kind of person he is. And his dialogue about asking her not to leave, was not romantic in any way at all. And he didn't even say it as a friend. He wanted her to be part of this happy moment and not leave, because this was a happy moment for the entire Chavan family. And as a member of the Chavan family, and as his brother's wife, he felt that she too should be part of this happy moment.
Again, if the CVs wanted, they could have just had a moment where he verbally thanked her, but then again, now that they have included it too, neither did it seem out of place, nor did it seem like Virat's thank you had some hidden agenda or any confusion of his feelings. It was pure and genuine gratitude, just for the fact that Pakhi did something that he asked her to do, keeping aside her animosity.
Whew! I've typed a lot. Stopping right here. Do drop in your feedbacks too. And I'm really sorry if I offended anyone. Feel free to have a healthy discussion and please no bashingđł
Love,
Niyađ¤
