I wish they'd ask about the character arc, tracks and how these guys justify such ridiculous melodramatic tracks and portray it with so much conviction, how much input he can give, how much they improvise etc.

Summary of his iv : “don’t mix real with reel” 🤣🤣

Got it in one. He was very subtle about saying exactly that. 😊

And by saying that, why do I get the feeling he was actually trying to deflect the flak Aishwarya is getting? 😉

I agree that in itv audience gets attached to characters not the actor/ person offscreen. But the reason to get attached to the character is the acting of the person potraying it. There are lots of negative characters that audience loves to hate too.

And its because the audience and actor both get attached to the character over time , its important that we see the full arc of the character. We should see consistency and growth. Unfortunately itv tropes , trp needs and the need for melodrama often dent that consistency we want to see. I wish someone would ask Neil since he is a veteran actor in itv about how he deals with character inconsistencies and play his part with conviction when we as audience struggle to justify certain scenes.

The answer is in the interview, I think. It's a steady source of income. So, yeah as an artiste it might be difficult to process the nonsense sometimes, but it's also just a job and a way to put food on the table. They are also just people trying to make a living like the rest of us.

True. But as the actors i wonder if they ever struggle between the creative satisfaction of being in a logical intelligent story vs just doing the job no matter how nonsensical the plot is. I get if the crew feels that way but the actors are creative people right.... you'd think they care about the actual story too.

It's a fair question and an interesting one. I would think that until one of them has turn into a fly on the show they can rationalize things in their head.

I wish someone would ask them the question you put forth. I would love to hear all actors' thoughts. Unfortunately these guys mostly ask them all templatized 'what's your favorite color type' questions.
