I can confidently say one thing based on the episodes that he is over Pakhi.IMO, the reaction of sadness here could be hearing his ex still affected by the past, and not able to move on and his guilt to have been part of her not able to move on.

Also he is using his knowledge that she shared during their supposed courtship to make her do something he wants, so he is not in the position to just DEMAND that from her, he is guilty that he has to use that info and make her relive those painful memories cos of that ( all didi’s card to make him feel guilty )

The last part is solely him focusing on tai.

There is no lingering feelings however objectively I look. Virat may have been shown to be many things but not someone who moves on with lingering feelings for someone else in his heart.
