After two dhamakedaar episodes on gender based roles we are back to how Sindoor once added to maang, it's for lifetime - "Zindagi bhar le liye ho jaata hai, Bhaiya"
Little disappointed with Shaurya and Kanchan' interaction for today...
Kanchan started off well with how he is engaged to someone else and married someone else... Is uncool... She also pointed out how marriages and sindoor are 'drilled' in girl's head since childhood... That's the fact...
But post that... The only point was to show Shaurya down by stating how he does not know woman at all zarurat nai thi... Shaurya ki saari thinking abhi hi present kar leni hai inhe...
But yes, I do understand cultural importance of marriage and sindoor in India, but somewhere isn't it more to show how woman belongs to some man now and not vice versa... To show love, commitment and loyalty from woman's side she has to wear these displays sometimes for sake of society and culture... But ITV would consider presenting this as taboo or something?
There was one show on Zee Tv - Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke- airing at 7.30 which kind of spoke about biasness of such symbols (Nishanis)... As to why can't it also be man wearing such nishanis to give out message, he is married too! And specially there a woman was also in college somewhere in her 20s....Though it was just for a track to make another guy fall for her because she didn't 'seem' married.. But it did speak it out loud and clear... That trust and loyalty is beyond these symbolism of marriage.... It's mind game, it's about what a person feels and believes...
Whatever Shaurya did was to precisely show his thinking about how he can take decisions to claim Anokhi as his... But dialogues from Kanchan could have been little better to do with love and how it represents something more than a ritual to believe being married... That she won't remove it because she loves you... Or because she has feelings for you... Rather than confirming she is now committed to you... Bhai had she not loved him, or had Shaurya not been ITV ML this would have been nothing more than a joke or social issue to be dealt with... Though makers did deal with it in previous episodes as a good topic.... But it all went down with... "Ek baar sindoor maang mein bhar jata hai toh zindagi bhar ka ho jana..." (🤣 And it sounded so funny... Shaadi is not tabooed word... She could have said... Shaadi zindagibhar ke liye maani jaati hai)...
It's clearly not true and writers are presenting... And Babli is the classic example, she isn't wearing her sindoor nor mangal sutra and she can rightfully move out of her marriage.... So just sindoor lagana isn't life time's commitment! -the drill is being reversed with Babli

) but atleast don’t utter dialogues like zindagi bhar ke liye.
