After two dhamakedaar episodes on gender based roles we are back to how Sindoor once added to maang, it's for lifetime - "Zindagi bhar le liye ho jaata hai, Bhaiya"

Little disappointed with Shaurya and Kanchan' interaction for today...

Kanchan started off well with how he is engaged to someone else and married someone else... Is uncool... She also pointed out how marriages and sindoor are 'drilled' in girl's head since childhood... That's the fact...

But post that... The only point was to show Shaurya down by stating how he does not know woman at all zarurat nai thi... Shaurya ki saari thinking abhi hi present kar leni hai inhe...

But yes, I do understand cultural importance of marriage and sindoor in India, but somewhere isn't it more to show how woman belongs to some man now and not vice versa... To show love, commitment and loyalty from woman's side she has to wear these displays sometimes for sake of society and culture... But ITV would consider presenting this as taboo or something?

There was one show on Zee Tv - Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke- airing at 7.30 which kind of spoke about biasness of such symbols (Nishanis)... As to why can't it also be man wearing such nishanis to give out message, he is married too! And specially there a woman was also in college somewhere in her 20s....Though it was just for a track to make another guy fall for her because she didn't 'seem' married.. But it did speak it out loud and clear... That trust and loyalty is beyond these symbolism of marriage.... It's mind game, it's about what a person feels and believes...

Whatever Shaurya did was to precisely show his thinking about how he can take decisions to claim Anokhi as his... But dialogues from Kanchan could have been little better to do with love and how it represents something more than a ritual to believe being married... That she won't remove it because she loves you... Or because she has feelings for you... Rather than confirming she is now committed to you... Bhai had she not loved him, or had Shaurya not been ITV ML this would have been nothing more than a joke or social issue to be dealt with... Though makers did deal with it in previous episodes as a good topic.... But it all went down with... "Ek baar sindoor maang mein bhar jata hai toh zindagi bhar ka ho jana..." (🤣 And it sounded so funny... Shaadi is not tabooed word... She could have said... Shaadi zindagibhar ke liye maani jaati hai)...

It's clearly not true and writers are presenting... And Babli is the classic example, she isn't wearing her sindoor nor mangal sutra and she can rightfully move out of her marriage.... So just sindoor lagana isn't life time's commitment! -the drill is being reversed with Babli

had so much expectations from tuesday's episode but it was disappointing to say the least. Wish Kanchan's dialogues were a bit more sensible and Shaurya wasn't still oblivious to the fact that it was a forced marriage. Yes, Anokhi does value sindoor but that doesn't give Shaurya the right to randomly fill her maang without her consent. Ugh what else can we expect from ITV writers?

I guess I should stick to watching episodes in bulk and lower my expectations to avoid any disappointment

Count me in. As you pointed out in your last paragraph, what an irony.... one sis is breaking apart from her marriage while other sis ke liye sirf sindoor lagna means zindagi bhar ke liye.... lolsmiley39

Ok sindoor is imp in india, but what abt other rituals. Why do couples sit whole night in mandap to get married😭😭😂 bas sindoor lagaa lo, phir apne apne ghar jao.

And even then the marriage has to be registered. So, these two are not married acc to law, I know it’s itv and law doesn’t exist (lawyers like Vineet dosmiley36) but atleast don’t utter dialogues like zindagi bhar ke liye.

Aise toh any man loves a woman in India, all he has to do is smear some sindoor even if she rejects and done! Bs.

My mom used to watch the show, I don’t remember exactly except The names Rachna and gunjan lol; and something fashion designing...

But yeah these Nishanis are just to mark a woman for life apparently. They are patriarchal.

I hope they don’t start doing sindoor jaap (tbh it has already started) like imlie did in one track lol.

I’ll take aastha mam jaap anyday rather than this sindoor and meri biwi jaap. He is feeling so happy by forcefully marrying that I wanna go and smack him on his head and tell him to come out of his dreamland and see the reality for once.

Makers have forgotten this... It was just for the sake of power packed Dialogues it seems... Anokhi did keep saying this was marriage yesterday.. But it was forced but her actions are exactly opposite! And Kanchan has done rest of pouring weakness on the importance of the whole strong dialogues yesterday... Character inconsistency is still so visible here!

100% agreed..when will the characters (and the writers) stop playing yo-yo? It's getting on my nerves now. Hope Anokhi doesn't melt tomorrow after Shaurya helps Babli and Shaurya actually sits down to reflect on Anokhi's words without any interference from Devi or Kanchan

And he is happy inspite of Anokhi apparently rejecting the marriage 😆

Sindoor's value is fine... I respect the culture.. But when it's overvalued in ITV for sake of romanticizing forced marriage, it irks me... And I do understand that Anokhi has feelings for him but her accepting every trashy things he does and goes back to.. Oh okay... So what... Kind of in a way encourages Shaurya too not take her seriously... And it's not at all surprising...

He is actually taking Anokhi for granted - I am still angry at him for being all happy about Sindoor wale hands and dusri side he sees the ring and gets worried/pissed...

Makers shouldn't have made Anokhi OK so soon with everything.. Is just my thought... Because no matter what this was without consent...

Seriously disappointed with this obsession to sindoor like if some guy will forcefully put sindoor in maang of the girl that girl will not remove it because bachpan sai sikhaya importance of sindoorsee today generation girls are not too obsessed with marriage symbols some don't even put it ..and I think Anokhi will now put sindoor in college also I can see her side partition in BTS pics so indirectly she has already accepted marriage and already yes signals to Shaurya😕

I was to some extent fine with her accepting this nonsense in private time... But her coming out with that and all is just more reason for Shaurya to not even take her seriously!!! And why should he...

Bas ab yeh engagement ka usse pata chale... Get her heartbroken for 3rd time...

Dinner date, birthday, and ab yeh

Excellent post by you, dear! ⭐️

In real life, sacred thread and vermillion has importance only after marriage is done w/o any cheating and between two individuals who consider each other as equals in arranged marriage or love marriage.

I guess that's too idealistic... Specially in India where husband and wife would be considered equal... Because Shaurya's mentality is typical... And unfortunately not many people see anything wrong in it... But yes... Consent is major thing...

Ideally Anokhi should have rejected the marriage and sindoor for now..
