The episode was good and Laal ishq was picturised beautifully.. Neil was great today, Virat looks besotted and Ayesha played the shy one really well.. I liked all three while they had the interaction about parents.. Loved how Sai is so considerate towards Patralekha when she wants her to understand something..
Patralekha felt a bit bad for Sai there, however the moment Virat talked about wanting to be the one to share, her care vanished.. That's where Patralekha looses her human side. For Patralekha being in love with Virat is detrimental to her humanity, to her being a good individual.
Watched the episode again after reading this part of your analysis. Totally elevated this episode even higher. To my mind this is the first time writers have shown the human side of Pakhi. Somehow I always wanted to believe what the PH has forever been insisting on - that Pakhi is a grey character. But they have not done anything to build the character as such. Today's episode proved that writers have it in them to write compelling stuff, but are too lazy.
We all have one thing that brings out the worst in us, for Patralekha its being in love with Virat that brings out the worst of her characteristics. Aishwarya was also okay, when she understood, Sai had no clue about the kiss coming in, so she knows that its just Virat who is love, Virat's reaction to it gave it away.. Patralekha , if portrayed properly would have been my favourite character. She is so perceptive and yet so obtuse at the same time. She understands Virat's emotions towards Sai even before he is there and is completely unobservant towards the fact that it doesnt make any sense for her to make Virat her nominee, when she has her parents with her..Like Sai said no one should come before your parents, how right she is there.. And that also establishes the fact that Sai would always want Virat to keep his Aai baba above her, while Patralekha would have wanted herself to be his first priority.
I have no clue, even after witnessing the almost confession of Patralekha, why is Virat so unobservant and clueless about what she wants.. He should have spoken more.
I'm unable to understand Virat's cluelessness. Or is he really clueless? When Virat suggests to add Samrat as nominee there was a very telling look he gave Pakhi - lasted for like half a second. Totally seemed like he was giving a message - Samrat is your husband, don't expect anything from me. Somehow, I don't believe he is clueless - he has observed but choosing to act like an ostrich. I am 100% sure, Virat has a fair amount of guilt. Still, what he means to accomplish by this show of ignorance is beyond me. I would love to know what the writers are attempting here - it would be helpful if they gave us a hint.
I loved Ayesha's acting when she mentioned ye that aapka jaruri kaam and her use of hands to donate quotation mark..
Its so weird and apathy from Virat's side, when Sai understands why Patralekha is crying and Virat doesnt. Sai was so perceptive there, she was hurt for Pakhi and also hurt for herself. Sai believes Virat maintains his distance from Pakhi, because he respect both the marriages and he himself is in love with Pakhi.
It was a great episode, makers tried to give us an episode surrounding around The three , however would have loved to see a glimpse of all family members.. I would have loved the episode more, if Patralekha was portrayed by a good actor.. What an impactful episode it would have been.. We get to know in the end that Patralekha is sad, because they show a teardrop, imagine a woman who has agony , tears of rejection written in her eyes, who would not feel bad for this woman.. She is miserable and she does not know, that this love / this obsession that she is carrying around is turning her into a horrible and to some extent loose character woman , and that is something to feel pity about.
Agree. This episode might have been even better than what it was if Pakhi was portrayed by a masterful performer.
Special Mention
I liked Neil ..Yes a lot in today's episode.. .. No two ways about it.. But since have not seen much mention about Ayesha's acting today on a very special day and for a very special episode.. I would like to talk about that..
ITV has always been about hyperventilating, deep breathings almost akin to Asthama and a bit of shivering when it comes to ladies portraying romance.. Very rarely we have a lady, anticapting a kiss from the man with eyes open, looking deep in his eyes, shy and yet ready for it. Ayesha portrayed it all so well..No overacting and no deep breaths..all natural.. Like how a girl anticipates the first kiss of her life, from the man who she wants to be kissed by forever..
Ayesha was also very good today during her confrontation with Pakhi.. including her straight faced replied and her focussing on personal with use of fingers to denote quote.. Also since I dont see many have noticed it, would like to bring it here, how she portrayed the hurt Sai felt for Pakhi, when she left and Virat was clueless about why she was crying..It was an expression of a second and yet she very well portrayed what she felt.. The girl is new and I dont expect her to do much, but then she is improving leaps and bounds.. She was natural as it can be in being the shy Sai..
Ayesha is just awesome. I too loved her today. No OTT reactions - just subtle, natural mix of shyness and anticipation in romance scenes. Confrontation scenes with Pakhi were very well done too. If she continues to learn, she has the potential to beat industry stalwarts.
