Reiterating what I was trying to say there. In order to prop up Malini, Imlie is going to be dialed down to someone we do not understand. That is what has been happening since the self-harm track started. All the dilution that is happening is because they want to give whatever redemption they have planned for Malini. Problem is I do not think she is redeemable, atleast not with how things have been going for about 160 episodes now. If Imlie and Aditya have had 7 months, she’s had 7 months too. No woman with even a little bit of perception around her would have dismissed Aditya’s statement on his marriage as a prank. She’s subconsciously always known, seen over the 7 months changes in Aditya’s graph and refused to see the truth for what it was. All that has led to the breakdown that she is facing today. She still thinks Imlie is the reason things are not ok, not Aditya. If he said even for a second that he wanted to get back, she would. I have a different perception on her question to him about staying with her. She is her mother in that sense. Both of them want to bury their heads in the sand. As for the steps she has taken the past few episodes, let’s see where it leads to because I still think she’s being all fluffy about it. While telling the truth about Imlie is Aditya’s responsibility, Malini can always close the chapter with the Ts saying we are done and anymore questions should wait until Aditya gets back. She is leaving an entire family hanging. She’s not felt worried about things earlier while calling Aditya a liar and walking out so I do not trust anything related to her feelings for the Ts.
As far as Aditya hiding the DC truth from Imlie - I think the only reason he’s doing it is because it’s not his truth to tell. And also he knows DC is spineless so nothing other than heartbreak is going to come out of it for everyone involved.
