Hence as per Sai, Pakhi is someone too big, with whom he his highly impressed that he wanted Sai to learn things from her, that he wanted Sai to also develop the qualities as that of Pakhi.
Pakhi is a girl whom he has feelings for, and is a person who he calls his friend, that friend who can walk in to their room for anything, who has rights to question him, whom he has given so much power that she can question him on all his actions, decisions of his life. So much power that she can criticise his wife, steer the decisions of his life.
But at the same time with whom he has clearly communicated that Sai is his wife, will be his responsibility and that Pakhi shouldn’t come in between him and his responsibility. Sai understands that he has some expectations from Pakhi like she has to accept that Sai is his wife. I think she sees that he is respecting their marital relationship and wants Pakhi too to respect it probably until his responsibility is over. Sai thinks that Virat’s heart belongs to Pakhi.

Virat loves/loved Pakhi so much that he had promised to Pakhi that her place/position won’t be given to any other girl.
He loves/loved Pakhi so much that in his heart, he only has place for Pakhi and no one else.

Pakhi is the only girl Virat wanted to spend the life with, the only girl whom he can fall for, only girl whom he is impressed with, the girl whom he thinks is matured and understanding, the girl whom he thinks is well behaved, the girl whom he desired to be his wife and not Sai.
I think how much ever Virat gets close to Sai, all the above thoughts, the mere thought that Virat had decided to never get married because of the feelings he had for Pakhi, the thought that Virat preferred to stay single than get married is blocking her vision, making her refuse to accept his growing fondness for her (Sai), refuse to accept that he could be interested in her.
Him staying silent during their confrontation only spoilt the chances he had. Any other advances made towards Sai by him I guess could be seen as his attraction towards a girl he is living with, but she believes, has decided that he is probably getting carried away, doesn’t really realise what he is doing and when Pakhi actually comes in front of him, reality hits him and he walks away (not literally), he then acts committed towards his promise he had made to Pakhi.
Virat’s silence many a times can be perceived as him stuck between Sai and Pakhi. Virat’s nice/polite behaviour in contrary to his harsh/strict behaviour towards Sai makes it looks to her like he has soft corner for Pakhi and that he can never be too harsh with Pakhi.
His inability to protest Pakhi’s advances (like Ladakh trip packing, her wishes to go for sightseeing, feeding him food, showing care/ concern for him and so much more) at all times makes it look like he has issues in drawing a line with Pakhi, makes her feel as if he is hesitant to tell the love of his life to stay away, as if he is caught in between his feelings/obligation towards his love (Pakhi) and moral/ethical values. She feels that he knows to stay loyal to his wife because that is what is right but acts loyal to his lover too by not giving Sai the rights of a wife but instead considering her only as his responsibility.
The more and more she sees Pakhi showing love/care/concern for Virat which if he doesn’t strongly object saying he has a wife who can take care of all of his needs and that she should think only about her husband Samrat, Sai might only perceive that Virat is stuck in his past, unable to move on. She is probably made to think that he loves Pakhi so much, his feelings for Pakhi is so deep that he doesn’t want to tell anything to Pakhi that would hurt Pakhi, tell anything to Pakhi that would mean like he is trying to put an end to his commitment. Looks like these are making it look like he is being loyal to Pakhi.
