COVID-19 drug called “2-DG” which has been developed was launched on Monday (17 May)
This comes after the Drugs Controller General of India cleared the formulation (2-deoxy-D-glucose) on 1 May for emergency use as an adjunct therapy in moderate to severe COVID-19 patients.
How it works
Clinical trial results have shown that this molecule helps in faster recovery of hospitalised patients and reduces supplemental oxygen dependence.
