No dear those who made that decision did not said anything like that. It's the former moon sighter chairman who said that.

Secondly i heard that in some places moon was actually sighted my relatives live there.

Its a long and complicated story. In short, at midnight when everyone was preparing for sehri they decided that its Eid. Everyone had even prayed taraweeh. Then few hours later when everyone was asleep, they took the decision back. But because it was too late by then, past fajr, they couldnt fast so they decided to do Eid anyway and keep qaza fast/itekaaf after

It is a strange story..quite funny too.😆 But you know. I remember I was a kid. And our national tv used to be closed at 11 pm. We were waiting for Ramadhan. But there were no news.. untill fajr.. when suddenly masjid's microphones said that it is Ramadhan. My poor parents had to eat anything and fast.😒

This eysighting difference is taking place since ages. I remember when I was a teenager.. we saw hilal Ramadhan in Yemen. Saudia didn't see. So they didn't fast. And after fasting for 29 days we saw hilal e Eid. In Saudia too they saw hilal. So they celebrated Eid after 28 days of fasting. And did qaza e namaz on the 2nd day of Eid.😃
