If Sairat hospital scenes had happened in real, not only would we get the cute nok jhok and romance but it'd be a HUGE step in their relationship.

Because patients in the hospital are at their most vulnerable - physically and emotionally. Its not easy for someone to not be conscious when you are getting basic care on the bed instead of doing it independently. And imo often its easier to have a stranger- a professional nurse do it than others. But obviously we feel most at ease with people we are really close to coz we dont have to be shy in front of them. And its a big deal to care for someone enough that you are actually ok cleaning them up, etc. Thats not something everyone is comfortable with. It doesn't mean that if you dont do the actual caregiving, you dont care but caregiving for sick people is hardwork. also cargiving person depending on cultural values, brought up is often preferred to be of the same gender....for Virat to allow Sai to do his sponge bath and feed him, wipe his face etc and for Sai to do it all so easily with zero hesitation is actually something thats a bit of a paradox to me. They shouldn't be this comfortable with each other given the stage of their relationship abd the whole "deal/zimmedari/forced shaadi" angle but they ARE. They behave like a couple married for a decade in certain aspects but are clueless about certain others. they havent even shared a hug yet but they have given each other so much liberty unconsciously. Sai has been keeping his clothes in his wardrobe, wearing his slippers, they share a bed/a room/a bathroom and now in the hospital virat is letting Sai actually "take care" of him. They showed us a very sanskaari version of sponge bath here.

One example- often hospital patients are on bed rest and use a commode/urinal for example. Technically virat can walk but if hes dizzy from blood loss, he'd still need to use a urinal. Having someone be at your bedside while you are physically so vulnerable makes you close to them in a whole different way!

Exactly why I asked the question a day ago here whether the marriage is really a deal for Sai? For virat it isn’t we know that.

More than whether she is ready or not , she DOESNOT want Pakhi to be doing all this for HER husband or anyone for that matter. I think that’s how far her brain has processed and willing to process at this point.

She almost lost him and didn’t get to talk to him. She hasn’t had the time to unearth what all it means to her. She only knows he is all she has left and that recognition and

realisation is all she has thought off not what all this implies

I don’t know if I made any sense

I don’t think so. She respects Virat’s consent. She still believes V and P love each other, she left the first night because she didn’t think Virat would want her to be there, she waited for him to be conscious. She could’ve easily asked the doctors to let her stay, after all she’s the wife. She met him after he regained consciousness. She heard him call her name. Hence she keeps saying, “If Virat Sir wants I’ll go from here.”

When she saw how much Virat wanted her to be there, she succumbed.

It’s confusing though because she also says things like “I’m his wife not you.” But then believes V and P love each other and she’s not the type of girl to ever come between two lovers. She probably says that when P stays like a wall and stops her from meeting V.

The more I read your post, more I feel disgusted that the family left a newest female member of the family to take care of him, without giving a though as to how comfortable Virat would be to get these done by her.

Ashwini was right to scold both Ninad and Mohit about leaving Virat with Patralekha. 🤢👎🏼

Difference here is Sai is a medical student. Virat was surprised when she volunteered for sponge bath and kept checking her face to see if she is conscious of him etc when she was cleaning the leg and feet and so far she hasn't shown any such reaction. She is behaving as if he a patient or like how she would have taken care of aaba when he is hurt during his job? Thats why maybe she did just the half legs coz thats what she would have done for her dad maybe.

However today, when she will do his arms, face or torso while facing him, or when she changes his bandage while looking at him, thats when it will hit her.

When she will notice him look at her differently, she will then realize what she signed up for.

Pp staying in the hospital was wrong on many levels.

One- everyone knows their past history. They just overlook it in blind hatred for Sai..

Two- shes a woman he doesn't know intimately like a mother/wife who can care for him in vulnerable state

Three- in india at night time, sadly, but its true that it is better off to have a man rather than woman around to do things in emergency

Four- she wouldn't know his medical history in case of an emergency

Five- it gives "duniyawaale" weird vibes to see a bhabhi devar act like husband wife. So log kya kahenge.

Six- pp panicks far too easily in an emergency as seem when she thought virat hadnt come back home. Whereas Sai uses her presence of mind.

Seven - pp is NOT his legal OR blood relative or NOK to be able to sign any paperwork in emergency. She is cousins wife /friend! 🙄 I mean they'll take it if no one is available but why have her when there is family. They could even do a witnessed phone consent from an actual immediate family member than talk to her. Medical professionals are not answerable to her just coz shes there in hospital to see virat. They still should call and notify his listed emergency contact- his wife EVEN if she is not physically at his bedside. And if not sai, it would fall on parents to consent for things.

For all these reasons it was better for his father or brother to have stayed if they didnt wamt Sai but definitely not pp. Mohit also technically is a cousin brother but atleast hes related.

Thanks for the post. Both the points that you have raised have been in my mind since yesterday.

One is ofcourse what an actual sponge bath in a hospital entails.

Second is Sai doing something as intimate as a sponge bath. To me personally, it looked out of place. They have just undergone a painful separation. The re-union should have been more about getting back the ease and comfort that they shared before and also coming emotionally closer. And as far as comfort with physical proximity is concerned, like you mentioned, they haven't even shared a hug. They did come closer during holi, but that was the effect of bhaang.

As much as I rooted for a sponge bath before the episode, it did not fit. Mainly because after all the touching and show of possessiveness, it seems hard to believe that they would not soon consummate. Not only did it feel out of place, it was a super weird time and place to show your possessiveness.

All this makes me wonder if we should perhaps let makers go at their own pace. I think they have a better idea about the relationship progression than we do.

The sharing of chappal and wardrobe, however, I find it more of a 'room-mate' thing to do. So it doesn't seem of place. It gives a glimpse of how comfortable she is in her space with Virat.

As a room mate you are privy to a lot of personal ingo that otherwise other people/freinds may not know. Like something as simple as- how do they sleep- on their side/belly, do they snore...by sharing their private space you see their core persona. Sairat already have that. They have been sharing things, doing little things for each other, noticing each others habits unconsciously

I think this hospital stuff is supposed to be the natural progression.

The sponge bath didnt feel out of place perse but it brings me to think why they have not even shared a hug yet. Atleast after this, they should be shown physically being closer even in CN. Coz its silly that she can give him sponge bath but will go build build wall afterwards. Or for virat to enjoy her care and attention and then not understand why she gets upset at pp's intrusion in their room....so after such a hospital scene where she is sponging him there really needs to be growth in the relationship thats obvious to all.

So after all this sponge bath stuff, they cannot have them be so distanced physically. They need to atleast give us a few friendly hug scenes and eventually the passionate hugs too.

I think Sai being a medical student apart from her tinge Of possessiveness made her come forward to carry on with sponge bath. She looked so focused in her work which is commendable. She may realise the effect it may have on both of them or may be not. Waiting to see more in this regard. I did not feel anything odd watching the scene. It did fit in properly with the flow of events.
