Sugandha Mishra, husband Sanket Bhosale and others booked

Phagwara: Nine days after their marriage, singer and comedian Sugandha Mishra, her husband Sanket Bhosale, who is also a comedian, have been booked for violating Covid restrictions, imposed by Punjab government, during their marriage function on April 26. Manager of Club Cabana resort, where the function was held, has also been booked.

They have been booked under Disaster Management Act and under section 188 of IPC for violating the official orders. The case has been registered on the basis of a video clip of the marriage function which came out on social media. Phagwara SP Sarabjit Singh Bahia said that the clip reached them on Wednesday and they registered the case.

The FIR mentions that from the media clip it emerged that several people gathered at the marriage function. Punjab government has restricted number of 10 persons for marriage functions and this restriction was in place when Sughandha’s marriage was held. She hails from Jalandhar and the resort where the marriage function was held is located on Phagwara - Jalandhar National Highway.

Great move...badly anyone wore masks, no social distancing...i understand its your big day but seeing the condition of the country they should have been more understanding...every second there is a death

How can someone be so obsessed with their happiness and good fortune that they don't realize that their country is dying? India is literally gasping for breath, people are dying on the street, others are standing in long queues to cremate their loved and here, we have people like her who can't see beyond themselves.

I don't understand why they didn't postpone it again. They already did it once and cut down the guest list. If they couldn't abide by the new restrictions they should have postponed it again.

Take action if they violated cov protocols . Public are careless themselves where ppl are dieing with out oxygen in second wave .
