To some extent, I blame the writers for people who are yet supporting Aditya-Malini relationship or think Malini is not wrong as she is the victim only or think Aditya-Malini have had a very beautiful relationship and were perfect for each other if forced marriage with Imlie did not happen. The reason is the lack of contemplation scenes from Aditya post third PD trip. Aditya told her the truth what 100 episodes ago? And just one time brought up that she fainted. Most of the people have not seen all the episodes 10 times by now. 😆 They just saw it once and that's it. They are not going to remember exact details and scenes that happened months ago. Or the way the writers have spread Malini-Aditya incompatibility scenes in first 100 episodes. No character has pointed out Malini's weakness or insecurity either. Only Mrs C has known the truth but the way she says it, some might think it has more to do with her failing relationship with Dev. Writers kinda rushed Aditya's emotional detachment track after PD trip. To people, it might seem that he easily moved on from Malini as soon as he realized his love for Imlie as if he did not spend 7 years with Malini. How did Aditya-Malini relationship start from Aditya's POV? Why did he fail to see the issues in their relationship for 7 years? They did not show why Aditya thought that sooner or later the marriage would not have worked irrespective of Imlie. They just showed him saying it to Imlie in conclusion, but where was his contemplation? They did not show Aditya have a flash back of all their fights post marriage? They did not show through his conversation with Aparna why he felt he could not see a future with Malini, irrespective of his feelings for Imlie. Even though I can answer all the questions, but that is because the writers have shown a lot to the audience but not shown any of the characters, especially Aditya, thinking about anything. Plus, very few people spend time analyzing episodes and characters. Sometimes writers have to just show it to the audience instead of assuming that the audience is keeping track of everything in their mind about the characters. For example, just so the audience does not forget Imlie is Aditya's first wife, how many times have we seen Aditya-Imlie marriage in flashback till third PD trip? Almost every other episode. 😆
So even though it seems that people who are not seeing Malini like how we see her, I cannot blame them much. It is writers job to illustrate the falling out of 7 years of relationship a little bit more in detail. Did their relationship have soul-deep connection or deep love, no, but still a lot of relationships can work if they try. But why would their relationship specifically not work? If dating worked, why wouldn't the marriage if they tried a bit harder? A lot of people have said here, to which I agree, Aditya's real self came out with Imlie that he had suppressed all along. Why did the writers not show us Aditya thinking more about this. We just got 1 scene of Aditya holding the white shirt post PD trip and thinking about it. A little bit more than that was needed. And why had he suppressed his real self?
For me also, there was a lot of connecting the dots that I had to do to understand why their relationship would not work, irrespective of Imlie. And I was able to do that only because, well, as embarrassing as it is to say, Hotstar zindabaad......Hotstar not keeping track of times I have seen some of the episodes. 😆Plus the detailed analysis out here in the forum helped.
