Today, the battle lines were effectively drawn and we know who's on who's side.
Rambo is the right name for that sanki buddha... I refuse to believe he even has heart issues, nautanki kahin ka. đĄ He was able to stop both his wife and young son from moving. Ayi should walk out and never go back to this useless guy. I am so glad to see a traditional housewife choose to ignore her husband's blackmail over losing her mangalsutra and picking her daughter's well-being again. I knew it was coming but I also hated that they showed Rambo throwing Pallavi on the ground like that. THIS IS ABUSE. How many FLs have we seen in the same position as her, crying at the doorstep asking to be let back in and to be given a chance to explain themselves? Ugh... I know many people were happy to say let him set fire to himself, but that would only have made Pallavi feel worse. Let her see him for what he really is. Milind and Mansi - I've crossed them off my list for good.
Farhad and Raghav's scene was exactly what I was hoping for. Props to Himanshu, he did great expressing disgust not just with his words but also his eyes. Raghav had to tell him to look away because he's condemning gaze was too much to handle and because as his voice of reason, he suspects there is a chance Farhad is right. I love that he didn't back down from facing his Anna. It takes a lot of guts to do that, and he's the only one who can do it and get away with it. Calling himself Raghav's secretary didn't go down well with his boss and as everyone's said already, Raghav's trying hard to convince himself that he was right. I hope Farhad is the one to tell Amma what happened. It would make sense after today's scene.
The shot of Raghav standing in the living room with his portrait in the back was impressive and symbolic. He has a larger than life image of himself in his head and while he was able to execute his plan, everything felt hollow as his laugh indicated and his life was as lonely as before. He may have sent Farhad away in anger but seeing Farhad's disgust did manage to unsettle him. He is not going to be at peace and roaming out on the streets like a madman at night shows that, as we had predicted, he doesn't feel even a little triumphant. I wish they would stop showing him drinking and driving, it's not a good message. I understand Farhad has left him all alone so he has no driver but surely with all his money he can get one? One of these days he's going to have an accident or run someone over.
The editing when Raghav tried to wipe the writing on the wall was very choppy and I hate it when they try to put such things in slow motion, it ruins the effect and makes the audio seem out of sync. Agree with many of you, Sai needs to work on emoting such scenes a bit but he'll get there. The Raghav Rao, who cares so much about his appearance, didn't think once before muddying his clothes (and then putting them back on). I loved it when he collapsed on the floor and said his Amma was his jaan. They were try to show the little boy in him again, to remind the audience why he did all this so that people can find the future tracks palatable and his acceptance of Amma's condition believable.
Frankly, I found the confrontation between Raghav and Pallavi underwhelming, but oh well. It needed to be done. While they use fire-related imagery to describe him, I was hoping to see them use use the more destructive form of water but maybe that will come later. I know a lot of people have hopes from her character to go on a rampage and destroy his life but after this scene I will stop expecting anything of the sort. I think she would be better of being shown to play subtle games because that would be more believable and would have a greater (negative) impact on his life. When Pallavi calms down later, she might think about Raghav's exact words to her today, that he hurt her back for what she did to him. She might think back to the truck incident and the Anjali one, yet an unsolved mystery. I want her to investigate the matter for her own sake and not to prove her innocence to anyone.
You could argue that he was also taking revenge for his own humuliation at the MMS scandal and Amma's anger after that. He didn't mention his mother and sister, which makes sense because he didn't want to keep talking about what happened to them and didn't want to give her the pleasure of seeing the pain he felt because of something she apparently did to his family. Raghav also wanted to remind her that he was the same ruthless don who she met in the beginning and that he was no longer going to let someone like her soften his approach to dealing with enemies or his attitude. He was the don of the city and he was reclaiming it once again, as much to emphasize it to her as to remind himself of his 'true identity'. He may not see it, but we did, that his conscience has already started to bother him, not only because of what Farhad said or made him feel - he has never done this sort of thing to anyone before, he didn't have sufficient evidence, etc. - but because I don't think he himself ever thought he'd stoop to this level. This was definitely a first.
I'm not happy about Amma and Keerti moving in with Raghav, especially if they are automatically reconciled. I really wanted them to have a gradual journey towards finding each other again as a family, but I understand with all the humiliation Amma might prefer Keerti to have her brother's protection. I wanted Raghav and Pallavi to have some privacy, but if Amma is the catalyst for the wedding then this won't be possible. So much for alone moments in that gorgeous RR mansion. Ab tire exercises to bhool hi jao sab log. I guess they hate each other so much that without other people around to force them into situations together, we won't see the tug of war that the promos promised. I am really sad that the mansion is now going to be a family home so quickly, but oh well. He won't be able to drown his anger and sorrow in alcohol like before because he will have his mother and sister home. That's going to frustrate him further.
I don't know to what extent Pallavi will be a storm, because living with Amma and Keerti would soften her approach and she won't be able to be rough in front of them. I hope she causes damage to his business. I also want to see Amma and Keerti remain angry with him as before, despite being under one roof, because that will hurt more, but this is probably not going to remain for long. They are bound to melt after Raghav continuously looks after them and does everything to make them feel comfortable. I am assuming Pallavi will try and alienate them further so that he feels the full weight of what she did, and even create a situation so that they hate him more than ever. He would have fulfilled his dream of bringing them home but the emotional distance would be harder. After today, I don't think I will ever take to this Amma and care about the mother-son dynamics the way I would have with Amma 1. Sorry, it's been spoiled for me.
The contrast between both brothers was shown again today. Nikhil and Pallavi aren't related by blood but I can bet he would give his life for her if needed. He's not a raging bull but would do anything to support his sister. I was blowing kisses at him today. He's younger and less experienced in life but knows his priorties better than the other 'grown ups'. His focus was not on his emotions but on how Pallavi was doing in that moment. Raghav, on the other hand, was doing all this in his own sister's (and mother's) name but it was as much about him as them. He needs to get his head out of the sand.
Farhad and Nikhil where the highlights of the episode for me. I have a feeling the fire in Raghav we've seen so far is nothing compared to what we will see coming up.
There's so much more I wanted to say about the episode but I feel a bit let down and not interested in watching next week. That's also a first.
