Hi All KAM3 fans!!
I saw KAM when I heard about KAM3 airing soon and became a fan of it. I knew I had to watch KAM3 not just because it was (implied) season 3, but more so due to Feroze - huge fan of him & his acting !! Was Fantabulous in Khaani (even my mom became a fan of his after watching it 😉)
Anyways, I had been waiting for sometime to put my 2 cents based on what has been shown & interpreted by me. I hope my thoughts dont confuse you all, like it does to me 😆
Story: I havent read any of the novels. However based on what I read in articles and discussions, I feel that he wasnt just inspired from Devdas, but he is doing so from other places as well
- Taking KAM legacy forward with Khuda & Love
- Mixing it up with Devdas by showing the class difference. Certainly the inspiration is not for anything else because originally Devas was love between 2 people (different classes) & male lead resorted to alcoholism which most certainly isnt the case here
- Interweaving different (seven) stages of love (from arabic literature). I will try to bring in a little bit through characters
Mahi: I personally think Iqra has done a great job by showing us a character who is so confused at the feelings that she is experiencing, starting from feeling the freedom of air at the train station to now. Coming from a conservative background where there are separate Male/Female areas, surrounded by guards 24x7, it was certainly a breath of fresh air to travel to Lahore with only her bhabhi & Fakeera. Someone who has never interacted with a male - friend (forget love), other than her father & brother, befriending someone like Farhad to achieve the goals (getting her friend to meet her fiance), it appeared very normal to do so when you know you are returning in 4 days. To her he was someone whom she could "use" and throw away at her convenience, not to be remembered later for various reasons. It was okay for her to lead him on knowing well that he is attracted to her. Her biggest shock was when Farhad came to confess his feelings and turn her world upside down. Somewhere she too went through the same that he went in terms of shock to denial of accepting that someone could take her game seriously & come to her to confess. But her world truly rocked only when he confessed to her about his feelings. She experienced .. Fear .. Fear of falling in love .. Fear of falling in love with someone who was willing to give up everything for her ..
She went from denial to guilt and today she is standing on the cusp of guilt & love. And today's episode when for the first time she was his pain, she found herself standing on that cusp. Hereon, her journey begins of overcoming her guilt and falling in love with him.
Farhad: I have no words to say how great he has been in expressing his mischievousness (with his family), his dedication to work, his pain (of being rejected by her). I just can't.
I don't think he is a stupid guy. He is someone who is an emotional person, who thinks from his heart and is currently in denial and trying to grasp the reality of being rejected. it is him who is going through these stages of love - attraction, infatuation, love and from now his journey begins towards worship for his love. Isnt it true that worshiping your love is equivalent to worshiping God (Allah) -> Khuda aur Mohabbat ! I will leave madness & death aside for now because I dont know what the writers have decided for the end. But I won't be surprised if thats where they decide to move towards.
A few observations: I believe there's a thought process that goes into wardrobe design. Because I absolutely loved how they showed the character growth through their wardrobe. Farhad starts off this cheerful and happy-go-lucky guy with these white tshirts/sweaters. His down to earth personality was explored through neutral colors at the wedding and a little bit at Bhawalpur. And now, he is in darker shades with little bit of neutral shades thrown here or there showing the darkness (not evil) in his heart - pain, agony, suffering. I am seeing the same thing with Mahi as well - bright (cheerful) to neutral (widowhood) .. Both of them are showing character growth - its like you need to fall from height to realize the gravity of things around you (sorry for the lack of better words)
Today's episode: Overall the episode was the best so far. Feroze's subtle expressions of heartbreak (seeing her waiting to catch a glimpse of Taimoor, her slipping away from his hands/last efforts to win her heart), realization (that he can never be enough for her due to class difference) & hanging to the hope by its last thread (thanks to mixed signals 🤔)- were beyond words. These 3 moments stood out the most for me, only because of his acting. He couldn't divulge to this friend he made or cry out loud (2nd moment), and only to whom who is aware of his feelings
My Predictions: I think Mahi will meet him once to completely shatter him prompting him to move - Jazbaat dialogue. But it might be the train station meeting that will make him finally move him on his wheels. It is here that she will end up breaking her own heart in return (unbeknownst to her). From the promos - I think he might want to see her one last time (with the help of Dilawar) at her college - the scene where he sees her walking with her friend; and finding that stone/pearl in the library. I think the confrontation with Sajal & Dilawar will prompt him to move, but not sure yet. Usually my predictions are pretty bad ..😆
I dont think they have cut scenes, they are probably unfolding them slowly - right now in linear fashion. Not sure if they plan on using flashbacks/dream sequences to showcase their Lahore interactions - Shayar & Mohabbat dialogue.
Good God this post turned into a book already .. Sorry for exhausting your patience guys ..
My attempt was not to justify anybody's (Hashim Nadeem, Farhaad or Mahi) actions, they are merely my interpretation of the 10 episodes so far.
But they did cut some scene .remember that hi from feedi mujhe nahi dikha kisi epi me wo .so they edited some scene from lauhar
