Hi guys,
I am in no way with how Virat has treated Usha Maushi or Sai or his Aai. I hate how he is asking Sai to leave the house, this is the most horrible behavior and wasn't expected out of Virat at all. I expected him to grow angry and mad, even if I say what else can be expected from him based on some of his past behavior, I am very upset when I am actually looking at how he was refusing to open the door or when he kept asking Sai to leave and stopped her from even entering the house. I am very upset with this behavior of his. It is just not an acceptable behavior how much ever he is angry.
This post is not to justify Virat's actions. It is only to share my thoughts about why he probably is unable to understand his Aai and why he is listening to Pakhi or defending Pakhi.
I have tried to share what I think could be the reason for Virat's behavior about a few things.
I watched a part of the previous day's episode very late in the night and finished watching it sometime back. I also some clippings of watched yesterday's episode on Insta.
I know that it is a very long post, give it a read if you can. I could be wrong in some way too, but I tried to just give a thought to a few things. This is all based on my understanding from Virat the character as a whole from the start.
Below is my understanding.
Let me first share the mindset of Virat. We all know how hurt he is.
Virat is upset with Sai because he thinks she has betrayed him
- by getting his sister married behind his back
- by moving close with him and yet planning Devi Tai's wedding
- by being on phone with Pulkit when he was thinking she was celebrating the festival with him
We all know the history of Virat's involvement in Devi and Pulkit's wedding. He turned against Pulkit due to an evidence he found. I do agree that it was a shoddy evidence and his initial investigation should have been better.
Anyway, as I was saying he has an evidence in hand because of which he believes Pulkit is a married guy and hence he wanted to keep his sister away from him.
We all know how he had told Sai that he will reinvestigate the matter before holi. We also know that many things happened in the house in his absence which he wasn't aware of. Sai learnt the truth about the gang and decided to unite Pulkit and Devi when Virat wasn't around.
He was kept in dark once he returned. Aai had requested Sai not to tell Virat anything and Pulkit had also taken a promise from Sai to not reveal anything about his family members to him.
Virat could have married Sai under forced circumstances but he has always been respecting their marriage.
He had slowly started to develop some feelings for Sai looking at her nature :
honesty, love for all, bold, chirpy, simple, a person who finds happiness in small things in life, a person who would not falter, a person who can never tolerate wrongdoings, hardworking, selfless.
He had initially fallen for her for many of her good qualities, for her righteousness and slowly when he started to get attracted to her as well. He is emotionally attached to Sai and genuinely wanted her to be his life partner. He slowly started to realise how he cannot live with her and also that he has developed feelings for her, love.
Virat had been supporting Sai in many ways, going against his family many times. We all know when he has failed but we all also know that he had warned them that if his family members do not want Sai to live with them, he too wouldn't be living with them. He had asked a couple of times to understand her and accept her. He has also told them clearly as who is she to him and the house.
Virat and Sai have been sharing a very unique relationship. Initially Virat didn't think that he would be her husband, but within a few days of their marriage, he had started to accept their relationship and started to consider himself as her husband. He later started to expect that she accepts too. We all know why she isn't but it is natural for anyone to expect such things.
Virat was the only main person in Sai's life after her Dad's death. He was the person who was with her day in and out, through all thick and thin. There could have been a lot of misunderstandings or tiffs between the two, but they also shared some unsaid understanding. They both are attached to each other, one has acknowledged the marriage and the other is trying very hard to not acknowledge.
It is not about what he has done for Sai, it is about what they have been sharing as a couple. They have both shared a beautiful relationship and a lot a moments together.
Virat has been thinking that he would mean something to Sai after all the time they have shared with each, after all the ups and downs they have been facing together, even after all the fights they have had.
Though Sai kept denying or refusing to accept him as her husband, Virat had hopes that she was thinking him to be something in her life, may be her family, or even husband or friend.
His hopes are now shattered.
His hopes has come out many times in many different forms :
through his expectations, his attention seeking behavior, his questions, while probing her to think about their relationship, through anger and also by expressing his hurt or disappointment.
Virat was away for a few days, returned with new found feelings, confessed his feelings and looking forward for them to take their life forward.
But the anger is not only because he has realised that she doesn't feel the same way like him or he is feeling rejected or that she was planning all these when he thought they were sharing some moments, it is also because of many other things.
He is right now feeling betrayed, is hurt that she hasn't been honest with him. He has always known that Sai is an honest person and he has a lot of faith in her. Hiding truth is also like telling a lie. She has right now done something that he never imagined.
His trust is broken not only because she got his sister married to Pulkit when he had asked her to wait, is also because she has not been honest with him, went behind his back to get his sister married.
He has been under an impression that she has let the matter of Pulkit and Devi Tai go, but has got a blow by this step of hers. It has all happened all of a sudden and he is not able to accept that she has hid such a big thing from him.
"Maine bhi yahin socha tha ki shaayad usko meri baat samaj aa gayi hogi"
The expectation would have been that whatever happens, she trusts him, she supports him. And not just she has not trusted him, has gone behind her back. That has disturbed him a lot.
I also noticed in the episode where he was talking to his family, he is worried for Devi.
He said how Sai has got Devi married to a person who is already married. He thinks she has destroyed his sister's life.
Can we blame if he feels all this? In reality, when spouses does things like this, they get shattered, broken and it comes out in anger. It is natural for any person to get enraged. I would also like to reiterate that, him asking her to leave his house is not at all right. But other than his action, his anger is a natural feeling.
He is not thinking that he has supported her or gave her so much, he is only upset because he thought they shared something, he has been hoping against hopes that Sai is considering him to be an important person in her life but the reality seems something else. When a spouse trusts someone else and not them, they would really be hurt, it is not ego, it is plain hurt.
His behavior :
Now that I have explained about his hurt, his feelings, his state, his mindset, let me talk about why he is behaving the way he is by speaking against Aai or Mohit.
Virat is very angry with Sai and believes that she is wrong. He also told Aai that Sai has been planning everything and has taken such a huge step.
Anyone who is in line with his thoughts is whom he will be able to understand. He will not be able to understand anyone who supports Sai. Isn't this true? Doesn't this happen with us in real life? It is not because of ego, but it is hurt. He believes she is wrong and hence whoever supports her will be seen as someone wrong to him.
Anyone who supports Sai, will be looked at as people who are blindly supporting her.
It is like how can they support Sai even after they have come to know what she has done.
He believes she is wrong, they are not able to accept it, but instead are supporting her.
Virat had just returned after witnessing the wedding of his sister, he saw that Sai was supporting Pulkit. That Pulkit, whom he thinks is already married and is trying to destroy his sister's life to take revenge against his family.
He is not able to move past what he had witnessed, that how Sai was supporting Pulkit and getting his sister married off to him. He is not able to move past the betrayal feeling that has settled in him now. Hence anything that comes from Aai or anyone who support will look wrong to him. It will look as if they are Sai's supporters.
Let's say if Karishma was there and even if she supported Sai, he is in a state where he would think that all these people have brainwashed Karishma too. He will not see that a person who has always been against Sai is supporting her. It will look as if she has got influenced by others.
Just like how he thinks Sai has got influenced by Pulkit.
He did mention that he felt helpless and couldn't stop the wedding too.
He feels defeated that he couldn't protect his sister, he couldn't stop Pulkit from destroying his sister's life.
It all happened right in front of his eyes and inspite of him being a police officer, he didn't have enough proofs against Pulkit to stop the wedding.
"Shaadi ko rokne ke liye jo sabooth the woh kaafi nahi the"
"Khadi ho gayi thi Devi Tai aur Pulkit ke saath"
Now as soon as he spoke about proof, I could only understand that he related it to his encounter with Sai in the mandap. It was she who asked for the prooofs. Whether someone else might have also asked the same or not is a different thing, his own Sai had asked for him and he had to withdraw his action of arresting Pulkit or stopping the marriage.
It will only look to him that Sai believes in Pulkit and not him, whom she has spent so much time together with.
In spousal relationship, even like Sai's and Virat's and especially when Virat considers her to be his wife, this is too much of a blow.
In spousal relationship, usually the expectation would be that their spouse believe them, give importance to them and their words much more than anyone else.
And here, she had challenged his decision of stopping the wedding by asking for proofs against Pulkit. One could see his hurt, his pain, his desperation, helplessness, his failure, shame in that one scene.
It is not just about others adding fuel to the fire, it is his failure to save his sister's life that is bothering him. And the reason for this failure is Sai.
Pakhi's words and how it played a role :
Even in the previous day's episode, I only felt that if there was anyone in Pakhi's place, he would have behaved the same.
His ego wasn't getting satisfied. It is also not just because Pakhi is agreeing with him. She thinks what he was thinking or what he was compelled to think. In the moment of anger, he has forgotten that Pakhi always speaks against Sai and dislikes Sai. He knows it, but her every word was matching what he was made to think after Sai's decision.
Pakhi said once "Sai bharose ki laayak hi nahi hai"
He was already feeling betrayed, this statement did not add fuel to the fire, but it was like confirming his thoughts.
Instead it is as if someone is able to understand what he is trying to say.
Someone is able to understand the seriousness of the situation and able to understand that Sai is wrong.
It was a grave mistake done by Sai and he couldn't take it that even after all this, his Aai was supporting Sai.
Virat's inability to understand Aai :
He is not able to understand her blind faith or trust on Sai. More than not able to understand, he doesn't want to. I saw the scene where he was telling his Aai
"Aapko sabooth par yakeen nahi hai, humare yakeen par toh sawaal mat uthayiye"
"Sai ne jo kuch bhi kiya na poore hosh aur hofason mein kiya hai, sab kuch planning karke kiya hai"
In that scene, there were lot of unsaid words of Virat which he couldn't voice out. It was as if he felt helpless, if is as if he was screaming from inside
" you might be trusting her, how do I trust her. "
"How do I trust her when she has done this planning, when I have been thinking we were sharing some sweet moments?"
"Aai, how do I explain it to you that I was about to confess my feelings to her and she has been planning all this"
"Aai, how do I tell you that I put bangles on her hand and it looked as though she was happy, was blushing and I started to build hopes but she has done this"
It is just that he feels his Aai trusts her based on what she knows but he thinks and believes that he has shared a much more intimate life (not physical) with her. He believes that he and Sai were much more close and has spent a lot of time together, more than Sai and Aai.
Hence he is not able to believe his Aai's judgement.
He thinks that after everything he and Sai shared, he has not known that she was planning all this, he has not imagined that she will take such a huge step, he had no clue what she was planning, then how will his Aai know anything.
This was clearly seen in the dialogues below.
"Yahaan hum poore parivaar holi mana rahe the aur woh koi aur hi khel khel rahi thi"
"Har ek cheez plan ki thi usne"
"Dekha tha maine use phone ke saath chat kar rahi thi"
"Mujhe kya pata tha ki woh pulkit ke saath chat kar rahi hai"
"Toka bhi tha, itna si bhi idea nahi hai ki woh plan bana rahi hai Tai ko bhagaane ka uske saath"
He thinks that his Aai is blinded by Sai's love that she is not able to accept or understand that Sai is wrong and so Aai wants to give Sai a chance to explain herself.
When Aai rushed to Virat after he closed the door saying she cannot enter the house, she asked him to give Sai a chance.
Pakhi said
"Aapko Virat ke faisle par bharosa kyun nahi hai Ashwini mami"
Virat turned and looks at his mom questioningly with hurt in his eyes.
It is as if he was upset that his mom is not able to accept believe that Sai can be wrong, as if his Aai is not able to believe why he is upset with Sai.
Pakhi's words to Aai
"Apni pati ki baat nahi maani, woh pati jo uski har kadam pe uska saath deta hai jo uski parvaah karta hai aur toh aur Virat ki baat maanne ke bajaye woh Devi Tai ko bhagakar Pulkit ke pass le gayi aur uski shaadi bhi karwa di"
"Itna bada kadam lene se pehle usne Virat ko batana zaroori nahi samjha? Aur agar uske paas koi kaaran hota toh woh kam se kam Virat ko bata ho sakthi hai na"
Aai replied
"Bas Patralekha bas"
Virat looked at his mom shocked.
"Tab tak khaas taur pe tum Sai ke khilaaf zeher ugalna band kar do"
Are the above said words by Pakhi, is exactly not what Virat is feeling at the moment? Is it not something anyone would think if they know the situation? Whatever she was asking were only the right questions, questions that Virat would want his mom to think of. Questions that Virat would want his mom to ask and not Pakhi.
Hence when she asked Pakhi to stop growing angry with Pakhi, Virat was shocked.
He was not shocked because she is scolding Pakhi.
He was shocked that his mom is not able to feel sorry for him.
He was shocked that when someone else was saying what his Aai was supposed to be saying, instead of supporting her, his Aai grew angry on her.
He was upset with his Aai that she trusts Sai so much that she is not willing to see how wrong Sai has been.
He is not able to believe how his Aai is blindly supporting Sai. Hence he said the below to Aai.
"Aur aap apni aankhen moond karke Sai ko bharosa karna band kar dijiye Aai"
"Aai aapke iss bharosa ne hi use itni himmat di hai itna bada kadam uthane se pehle ek baar bhi nahi socha"
Little does he know, that what he has seen, is not the entire truth. Right now his hurt and the feeling of betrayal is not allowing him to think anything. His emotions are so strong that he is not able to think what kind of a person Sai actually is.
Why Virat is against Sai given a chance to explain :
Aai wants him to give Sai a chance to explain but he doesn't think it is necessary due to all the above said reasons.
Giving Sai a chance to explain herself is out of question for him. It is like him saying
"what is there to explain"
"She has done it, I had even said I will reinvestigate and even then she has done this"
"She did not wait for me, it clearly shows that she has belief on someone else but not me"
"What is more left to be understood"
He said the below to Shivani bua. This only means how much he is worried for his Tai.
"Abhi baat aapki nahi ho rahi rahi hai, sirf aur sirf sirf Sai ki ho rahi hai jisne meri Tai ki zindagi barbaad kar di uss shaadi shuda insaaan ke saath phir se shaadi karwake"
He believes she has destroyed his sister's life and hence there is nothing that can be said or explained by Sai that would undo the marriage or that would justify Sai's actions.
But though, he felt she shouldn't be given a chance, he also told the below.
"Ek baar aa jaye phir na jaane kitne saare sawaalon ka jawaab dena hoga use"
"Na jaane kitne sach ugalne honge use"
He had closed not just the doors of his house, of his heart too. He was worried about his Tai time and again. Suddenly he came to know that the letter was burnt.
And he was shocked, he didn't dwell on Sai burning the letter much though he was shocked that his Aai was again defending Sai by asking everyone if they had seen anyone burning the letter. He was bothered as how this all happened and how none of them had a clue as what Sai was planning.
He then asked
"Aap logon ko zara sa bhi shak nahi hua? kuch toh kaha hoga Sai ne, Kuch toh kiya hoga, sochiye, yaad kijiye, aap logon ko pata kaise nahi chala, yaad kijiye"
And Pakhi's words
"Pehle din se kehthii aa rahi hai ki woh Pulkit se kisi bhi haalat mein karwaake rahegi "
The above said Pakhi's words made sense to him. He could believe it only because Sai went ahead getting Devi Tai married to Pulkit even after he said that he will reinvestigate. Won't it look true to us too if we were in his sitauation?
He would have been made to think that way, had anyone else said the same, not just Pakhi.
When Shivani Bua scolded Pakhi that she hates Sai so much that she is not able to find any good qualities in her and how can someone hate so much.
Pakhi replied that she doesn't hate Sai and she is only thinking about the welfare of the family.
But what caught my attention was this
"Aur rahi baat tareef ki, taaref karne ke liye kisi mein ghun aur qualities hona zaroori hai na"
Virat glared at Pakhi. That only shows that he might be mad at Sai but he disagreed with Paakhi's statement.
We all should not forget that even when Virat had no feelings for Sai too, during the DIG incident, when Pakhi said Sai ko chodo, he looked at her shocked. He looked at Pakhi shocked even when Virat was upset when his career was at stake.
And then when Pakhi said that all are upset with Sai, Mohit said
"Aaj bhi poora parivar naraaz nahi hai"
"Mein shivani bua Ashwini kaku Sai wahini se naraaz nahi hai"
Virat looked at Mohit angrily.
"Tumhari badi bhabhi hai tameez se baat karo"
The reason he grew angry and spoke that to Mohit was clearly because he was upset and shocked that not just his Aai but even Mohit is supporting Sai even after all this.
He just wants to revolt against anyone who would support Sai. It is not a support for Pakhi, it was a revolt against Sai.
He just doesn't want to accept anyone supporting Sai.
He also has noticed that those 3 have always not liked Pakhi and have spoken against Pakhi many times.
As he suddenly chose to speak one day, that Pakhi was always against Sai, we came to know that he has been observing Pakhi's dislike towards Sai and she taunts only Sai.
The same way, he has probably felt that Mohit is always against Pakhi irrespective of whether she is right or not. He thinks that Mohit argued with Pakhi because Mohit believes and supports Sai.
After everyone told me about this scene, I tried to think through it.
Yes, he did support Pakhi, but not because he holds Pakhi in high regards.
He was baffled thinking Mohit probably has no respect for Pakhi as a bahu of the house and to support Sai, he is doing all this.
Virat's character, behavior or trait is making me think about how he observes things and it comes out to light suddenly one day.
Be it about his observation that Pakhi only speaks that way to Sai or be his observations that Mohit speaks this way to Pakhim
Virat has always noticed his Aai's dislike towards Pakhi, right from the time he returned to CN. He has noticed many times that his Aai has no trust in Pakhi. It is just that he doesn't want anyone to act unfair. He is not able to realise that they are able to understand Pakhi's motive (to put down Sai or poison his mind against Sai).
Coming to the most recent episode
How true are Sai's words. This holds true to all.
"Nafrat ki nazar se dekhengi toh saamne waale mein duniya bhar ki burayiyaan hi nazar aayengi"
Though this words were meant for Pakhi, right now, Virat is overpowered by his emotions and anything Sai does or speak will seem wrong to him. Anyone who supports Sai will also seem wrong to him.
I did not see that Virat approve of what Pakhi said about how selfish Sai is. Pakhi kept telling many things that Sai wouldn't be willing to return to her village because she knows that she needs your support, she acts as though she is about to leave the house to gain your attention and all that.
Clearly Virat did not fall for any of it. He kept looking at Sai with anger in his eyes. His anger was a result of his hurt.
A person gets reminded of everything when someone else speaks about it. It looked as though when Pakhi was speaking about Sai becoming a doctor and all Virat was reminded of those memories related to her sapna.
It was as if he was asking her in anger as why did Sai spoil all these, if him or whatever they shared meant nothing to her, as if asking have I not supported you in your dreams, I fought with my family to let you study, why did you betray me.
There was hurt, pain and longing in his anger.
He paid no attention to what Pakhi was saying. He ofcourse did not correct or stop Pakhi because he was in his own world looking at Sai with hurt.
Sai's words
"Jo insaan khud hota hai na, uske saamne waala bhi waisa hi nazar aata hai. Aap mujhe khudkarz keh rahe hain na, aapne khud ke alawa kisi aur ke liye kiya kya hai Pakhi didi"
Virat's words
"How dare you, tum iss tarah se Pakhi ki beizzati nahi kar sakthi ho"
My take on this
I have no doubt that Virat has any feelings for Pakhi or that he cares for Pakhi more than Sai.
His anger wasn't right, he shouldn't have.
But let me share what happens in real life. When a person is upset with someone, they won't be able to see whether the other person is right or wrong. They cannot think logically. They go against all people who support them as I have mentioned above. They also sometimes support the person who speaks against the person who has hurt them.
But this is not the only reason for Virat's anger I believe.
The general expectation is that anyone who is wrong shouldn't raise their voice or fight. They can give explanations but would we like a person whom we think at fault talking as if they are not wrong at all?
Virat is shocked with Sai's boldness, with not backing off attitude of Sai's, her sherni avatar.
He is angry and getting more angrier than before when Sai doesn't seem to be regretting her actions.
She need not be doing what his Dad asked to do, but he is also not able to see her regretting her actions.
She said that she is not sorry that she got them married.
Sai does feel sorry to have hid it from Virat and Aai, but right now due to the turn of events and conversation, the talk is about the wedding. To Sai, she is not sorry that she got Devi married, because she knows what the elders of the family did, she also would have understood that the evidence Virat got would have also been tampered by these people.
But to Virat, how will he be able to tolerate when Sai isn't feeling sorry to have got Devi married. Sai getting Devi married is wrong as per him, her cool attitude and sherni avatar is riling him up.
Also, in addition to all the above said reasons, I think there is another one.
Virat knows the relationship Pakhi and Sai share.
Virat knows that Sai dislikes Pakhi, Sai had no trust in Pakhi.
Right now it looks to him (due to the state that he is in) thaf Sai is being disrespectful to her too.
He thinks she is disrespectful because she thinks low of Pakhi.
He is thinking that Sai is hinting at Pakhi's relationship with him.
He knows what Sai thinks about the friendship he and Pakhi shares, he knows how she thinks that there is something between the two.
I think, he is thinking that Sai is speaking all this and this way to Pakhi to insult her, to get back at Pakhi, using this situation. He is mainly upset that she is fighting back like this in spite of her being wrong.
Not that he was right in defending Pakhi, but I think all of the above could be the reasons.
Virat's feelings for Sai
Last but not the least, about Virat's love for Sai. He does love Sai but at the moment it is not as strong as it should be. He is getting overpowered with his emotions, lacking to think straight and take the right judgement due to his insecurities.
Many questioned, if he would have ever done it if he had loved Sai, I too agree with them. I gave it a thought and felt that this is all happening only because he loves Sai. I do not believe that he is just attracted to Sai, I also do not believe that he has any feelings for Pakhi.
I don't think he would be taking such a harsh decision if he didn't love her but considered her only to be his responsibility. If he had considered her only to be his responsibility, he would have packed her bags, dropped her at GC on his own, might not have asked her to leave like this. I don't know, I felt it this way because at the moment, his anger or rage is due to his strong emotions. Emotions are his weakness and he always acts wrong when he gets chained by them.
I gave a thought about a few things and have shared my understanding of Virat and his thoughts from the past 2 episodes. I might not be too active today and tomorrow, so plesse excuse me if you do not get any reply from me for your comments immediately.
