i understand its ITV etc.. but why do writers still write such lines!! TV is the most watched medium, if they think that a hero saying such things is cool.. imagine what impact it will have
GHKKPM is one of the most regressive shows, the way they treat ashwini, sai and even devi..is beyond disgusting.. and let me not get started on that paakhi!! and she is a PARALLEL LEAD!!
It's disturbing to hear him saying this that too in front of the family who keeps reminding him that he has no control over her. Why give more chances to get abused and let Sai get abused too.
I have not seen the episode yet so I'm not sure about the backdrop of the dialogue.
But to take the dialogue at face value - take from another POV, here it could mean - she's taking advantage of the freedom (whatever that may be) given to her, its not about owning people. Virat may feel, he has supported her & didn't object her from standing up for herself but she has back-stabbed him by arranging a marriage without his knowledge.
I've heard similar dialogues in no.of families like = usne deyi gayi choot ka faayda utaya (the most I have heard is for kids, when they don't perform well in their studies & parents say, the kid has taken advantage of the freedom given to them or when kids get punished for their mischievous activities).
People are usually angry or pissed off when using these words & most of them at the recv. end don't take it too offensively.

when people are angry, they don't think about the 3rd party - on what the hyenas may be thinking.
What’s the exact meaning to this?

As a woman, it was disturbing for me as well.. As a woman I feel I dont need a choot to do what I want to do... I am a tad bit disappointed with how they are destroying Virat..Because I fell in love with how Virat takes care of everyone around him.. Because of how compassionate he is ..and they spoiled everything with what he is to do..and with such dialogue.. I will never never be fine with my husband uttering such words you know..😭

Actually it's a sentence mostly used when you do something bad and people blames so sometimes parents aur guardian uses like he/she's given too much freedom to do anything.
It literally means he/she's allowed too much freedom. Mostly like controlling behaviour. Because here, due to orthodox values, husband thinks Iike they own their wives and decides everything for them. As a girl and most importantly as a human, I guess we shouldn't be "allowed" , we have that right to do the things we want. That's hurt the most.
Don't know in which context Virat used, either as a guardian who cares for their children or as a controlling husband, but it was a disturbing term.

Cgang & pakhi had always called virat having biased support for sai & he dont listen to his family. They say he don't say anything to sai for his rude behaviour for them virat silence is like encouragement for sai
Virat meant that only I will not support her any further coz he never thought sai will go this far before he only supported her 4 devkit marriage
Virat is no where a controlling husband but some people he will always like controlling one.
