Studies was just the final nail in coffin. Altogether Ani was petrified by the whole concept of 'patni dharm', which now is conveniently wrapped into just studies and Barrister babu. Ani was clueless on how to stop those change of emotions of Bondita (be it real or his illusions, change was inevitable) for him by giving explanation .He could have taken much better steps though.
Ani failed here also right, he wanted her to be out of her patni zone, which is what she still hold on to even after polygamy, only he could convince her on the matter of studies but that too she is doing for 'his dream' 'their dream'. If he thought he will give away all the rights she asked for to somebody else ,she will back out. But she stays right there staying, mere adhikar cheena pasand nahin. @UL - I would have believed that if he was not the one who very easily explained Bon topics like menstruation. I agree he might have felt a little discomfort in explaining the 'change of emotions of Bon', but I am not asking for that. I said he could he have given her an assurance, a sense of security and nothing else. There was nothing to feel uncomfortable in that, isn't it? But no said to things like "mere aur tumhare beech koi mann ka rishta nahi hai Bondita, tum bas meri zimmedari ho" and not for once, but for SEVERAL TIMES. Was really mann ka rishta not there in between them? Bon, who already feared so much on losing out, needed pacification and assurance, not those constant remembrance of how their relationship is jhoota and all.
@Bold2 - Exactly. She wants to be a barrister just because it's "his" dream, "their" dream. Even yesterday she said to Manorama "tum nahi ban sakti barrister kyunki ye sapna patibabu ne mere liye dekha hai". Even now it is beacuse of him that she wants to be a barrister and I don't want that. Ani haven't directed her credibility towards her own will. She needs to know why exactly she needs to become a barrister. Along with 'his dream' and 'thier dream', it needs to be "her dream" too.
Yes, that adhikar will come in the picture in the future. Even I now want her to be out of patibabu-zone.
