ShaKhi SS: Mismatched
Chapter-1
It's not at all easy to play in your rival's home ground, in fact that is the toughest job! But SRH (Sun Risers Hyderabad) was facing it at the moment as they were playing against Bengaluru against RCB (Royal Challengers Banglore). And this already created a lot of pressure on the team.
After winning the toss, RCB went to bat first and in the second innings it was SRH' s turn but the wickets were going down like in a blink of eye!
Shaurya was wearing his knee pads and getting ready to go on 6th number though he prefers number 7 but today was one different case!
'what the hell happened to all of them? Sabke dimaag mei itna pressure kyu? I guess aaj mujhe jaldi jaana padega!' Shaurya thought.
And his trance got broken by another applause as they had lost another wicket!
6 wickets and just 24 runs! Now only Shaurya Sabherwal could save the team and get them win the match!
He had already wore his knee pads, so just wore the helmet and gloves and took his favorite bat, headed outside!
As soon as he stepped in the ground, every SRH fan in the stadium, started cheering for him more loudly! Since there were RCB fans more so the sounds were mixing but Shaurya could see how his fans supported him at the moment and it boosted his confidence to no end.
"lagta hai ab captain ne kamaan sambhaal li hai team ki Shaurya Sabherwal hi bacha sakte hai SRH ko ab! " Commentator 1 said as a matter of fact.
"haa bilkul kaafi accha strike rate hai inka plus inki khaas baat toh yeh hai ki ye all rounder hai! Chahe batting ho, bowling ho ya wicket keeping! Sab kucch karlete hai!" Commentator 2 exclaimed.
"inko dekha ke sirf ek naam dhyaan mei aata hai Dhoni! Bilkul carbon copy hai yeh unki! " Commentator 1 started off the string of appreciation for Shaurya.
"yeh batour captain inka pehla IPL hai last year CSK mei the aur kaafi kucch gazab karnaame bhi kiye inhone! Kaafi ability hai inme pressure ke saath khelne ki! " Said commentator 2 further appreciating Shaurya.
"jis tarah se inhone faisla liya pehle aane ka and jo yeh ab tak karte aaye hai, is pure IPL mei woh sirf MS dhoni ki yaad dilata hai! Captain cool ab Shaurya bhi ban gaye hai shayad!" Commentator 1 said, comparing the duo.
That's a good thing that Shaurya couldn't hear the commentators or else he would have groaned in displeasure on being compared to a cricket legend! Afterall who would love to be compared with your idol? atleast not Shaurya!
"haa chaliye ab ground pe dekhte hai jaha pe Ahir Chatwaal shuruaat se hai aur maze ki baat toh yeh hai ki Shaurya aur Ahir ki tunning bohot acchi hai! Kaafi acche dost bangaye hai, yeh dono! " Commentator 2 said focussing on the field
"Ahir ka toh yeh pehla IPL hai aur us angle se dekhe toh he is also doing well! Kaafi sahi strike rate hai! " Commentator 1 informed.
Back to the ground! Shaurya was on strike! But there was a two minutes break so Shaurya was telling Ahir to be calm!
"Cap mai already shaant hu itni der se! Ab attack karna padega nhi toh haar jayenge ham! " Ahir said in a quite frustrated tone.
"haa attack karna hai but hoshiyaari se! Wicket gavayenge toh kaise chalega? Ab sirf bowlers bache hai team mei aane ke liye we need to chase the score and not to get out! " Shaurya explainrd him.
"Okay captain!" Ahir said nodding his head in approval.
Shaurya smiled at the honey brown eyed boy to which Ahir smiled back in return!
The break was about to get over when a picture of some RCB fan flashed in front of the screen! Both Ahir and Shaurya turned to look at it!
The girl was doing a thumps down to SRH but then seeing herself on the big screen, she blushed for a second and then cheered for Virat and gave a flying which was supposed to be for Virat!
Shaurya chuckled at the cute looking girl and got mesmerized for a second! But in another moment he recovered as they have a match to play, right then!
Shaurya and Ahir shared an absolutely amazing partnership during the whole match! And It was getting difficult for RCB to break there partnership! It was all because of the strong partnership that they were almost near to beat RCB's score which was 190 and it was looking a possible task because of the strong partnership for RCB's end!
They were in the last over now with Ahir was on strike! And there was again a two minutes break! Shaurya was continuously calming Ahir's attacking mode so that he don't get out and luckily it worked!
They were all drinking water when again that girl's face flashed on the big screen and Shaurya again got mesmerised.
The same girl from earlier flash was there and just folding her hands and her eyes were closed! She was praying for Virat of course as her red RCB Jersey outshined the fact!
Shaurya felt somewhere distracted because of the girl! But didn't let the though affect his mind!
The match again restarted! As Ahir hit the ball, he ran towards Shaurya's direction to take a run and Shaurya also did the same! And like this they got 3 more runs on 4 balls! The score now was 186, just 4 more runs to get into the super over or a six to win! Anything was possible at the moment!
Shaurya was on strike and he took a deep sigh to calm his nerves involuntarily he closed his eyes for a second and the same girl, that RCB fan flashed in front of him and he got shocked and in another moment the ball came running to him and hit the wicket indicating that Shaurya was clean bowled and SRH had lost the match!
RCB fans cheered loudly while Ahir just went upto Shaurya!
"Cap you okay? " Ahir asked out of concern looking at an extremely upset Shaurya.
"haan! Mujhe kya hona hai? " Shaurya said back with a weak smile knowing fully well that this loss was his totally fault.
"you looked not ready for the ball! " Ahir voiced out his concern being a keen observer he always was.
"It was just.. Let's talk later about this! " Shaurya started but was failing to form words so choosing the easy way, he left the conversation open for later.
They hand shaked with RCB team and both the captains presented themselves to give there view about the match in front of the camera!
"Firstly congratulations Virat for the win I think that girl's prayer worked for you!" Some cricket expert with the specs on teased Virat much to Shaurya's annoyance.
"thank you so much! Yes I guess it did and our hard work was there! That girl was cute any way! Though I love all my and RCB fans as they are so special to me! " Virat happily chirped making shaurya more annoyed and the worst part was Shaurya couldn't let it out on his face, so he plastered a fake smile on his face.
"if that girl hears you right now, she might have fainted!" Expert said being a bit dramatic just for some content.
"ha ha they all believe in the heart throb thing but I am just yet another guy! " Virat said laughing at how his fans were.
Shaurya was standing there patiently but his mind was not at all interest in the conversation not because as it was about Virat Or RCB but because of the girl they were talking about! She had already started to mess his brain!
"So Shaurya, SRH lost by merely five runs! What do you think went wrong? " Finally the expert asked to Shaurya to which he immediately got attentive.
"First of all I think our bowling was not that strong as it could have restrict them more and then batting was also not on the correct pace! And I totally take the responsibility of that last ball! We could have scored more if the bat had connected with the ball! " Shaurya said, being the responsible captain he was.
"ok thankyou so much! That's the Captains of RCB and SRH! " With that the expert ended the interview and both the captains left off.
Soon they went back to hotel and luckily or unluckily RCB and SRH were staying the same hotel but on different floors!
In Shaurya's room, Ahir was continuously eating Shaurya's head to know what had happened to his otherwise focused Captain.
"So tell me what happened in that last ball? " Ahir chirped while lazily sitting on Shaurya's bed.
"That girl is messing up with my brain.. " Shaurya voiced out his thought.
The moment he realized that he had said it loud his nerves tensed up and Ahir looked shocked at what he had heard, that too from his Captain!
